Hi there! I am a major dog lover and have been my whole life. I grew up around dogs as my family has boarded and cared for numerous dogs for years (so I have extensive references, if that is something of interest!). I am 30 years old and live with my family here in the Palisades. Having a few of us here means we are perfectly set up to have close to around the clock care for your pet when boarding. Our home is perfect for pets, we have a lovely yard that has a grassy area in the sun as well as some lovely shaded areas. There is also a dog park nearby which we can visit if your pet likes that sort of thing! We have one dog already, Oliver, who is super friendly and great with other dogs. When house-sitting, it is important to me to be respectful of your space and treat it how I would want my space to be treated. Walking is another service I offer with pleasure! Watson had a great stay with Kathryn! She was wonderful with him and it was a pleasure to meet her and have her take care of our sweet and somewhat quirky basset hound. She kept in touch with us, sent some photos and was quite flexible in the times for dropoff and delivery. We hope to be able to have Watson stay with Kathryn again in the future.
This was my first time using Dog Vacay and I was nervous to leave our seven month old rescue with anyone! Kathryn quickly put my fears to rest with fantastic updates, pictures of my pup, and timely responses to my questions. Upon getting her back, my pup was happy and even had new skills - no doubt from Kathryn's dedication to her training. I highly recommend Kathryn and would definitely use her again.
Kathryn was not only responding to my request within the shortest time, she also and most important, gave my puppy a wonderful stay at her home! She is wonderful!

I like to hang out where the animals are so I am aware of their needs when they arrive. As a dog owner, I schedule our time each day so the dog knows what to expect and I like to do this when dog sitting as well, but based on what the dog owner typically does so as not to upset the dog's schedule and equilibrium too much. That said, we can always play and hand out more than they usually do if the owner is interested in this care.

It is important for me to know how they interact with other dogs and humans of all ages. Additionally, I like to know the commands that you are using with them so I can practice that as I watch over them. It is also good to know if there are any allergens, medical conditions, medications or grooming needs.
A typical day
I prefer 1 hour walks so as to get the dog nice and exercised. Near my home there is an off-leash dog park which I enjoy going to. There are also lots of hills in the area which help to exhaust the dog!
