Pet care experience
Drop-in visits available for any type of pet in the Ballard area! If you have your own personal zoo, I'd love to be your sitter. I work full time during the week, so my drop-in availability is before 8:30AM and after 5:30PM Monday through Friday, any time on weekends. My pricing is flexible based on ease of care and distance from my home, just let me know what you need. Are you a tenant of Gallagher Properties? I offer discounts and flexible dates for neighbors, feel free to reach out even if my calendar appears full/away. I have a Bachelor's degree in wildlife ecology that involved courses in animal behavior and care, including one that was specifically about canine behavior, and I spent a year as a zookeeper and a summer in wildlife rehabilitation. I've attended the Karen Pryor Academy Professional Dog Trainer Course (although couldn't complete it because of health issues with my own dog) which covered positive training methods and dog body language. I'm happy to answer any questions you have, just send a message my way.

this is not the first time that Katie has helped with my family. I know this sounds hokey but it's like leaving them with another family member. When she couldn't' do the dates on the first part of my trip, she recommended Alexis and I felt the same way about her. I feel very lucky. Katie is always so responsive to me while I am out of town and always sends the best pics of my cat. I always feel comfortable leaving her in Katie's care because I know she is always getting tons of attention!
Kathryn has looked after our elderly cat several times and he absolutely adores her. She always send loads of pictures and even administered his ear medication twice a day, which is no easy task. Her communication and accommodation of special requests is always top notch. I wish she were available every time we have to go out of town!

I've got an Australian Shepherd mix named Mogley. His favorite dogs are ones who are smaller than him, his best friend is a 15 pound shih tzu/poodle mix!
A typical day
I'm here to ensure the mental well-being of your pet. Every animal has different comfort levels, exercise requirements, and mental stimulation requirements. I've spent a lot of my free time learning how to read animal body language and my sitting style will adjust to fit your pet's comfort level for the happiest, safest stay possible. Have a dog that's scared of men in hats or kids on bikes? That's fine, we'll plan our walks around it. Separation anxiety or dog reactivity? I can work with almost anything under the condition that I know about it ahead of time.
