Pet care experience
In addition to having dogs and cats growing up, I worked at a 100+ dogsled kennel and have on multiple occasions, handled the care of all 100+ dogs on my own. I have experience with puppies and dogs of all ages. My vacations usually revolve around dogs in some capacity, including spending my time at dog kennels and helping friends who are still in the dogsled industry. I love dogs, I currently have two retired sled dogs who have known my husband since they were puppies. I am the go-to pet sitter for all of my friends!

Katie is one of the only people that I trust to watch my dog Thor. She is so observant with Thor's behavior and mood and knows how to make adjustments to Thor's care to make him more comfortable. She has a lot of experience caring for dogs, and it is so apparent with how well she cares for Thor. Thor can be a nervous dog, but he is always excited to spend time with Katie. And of course Katie always sends lots of cute pictures of Thor when I'm missing him :)
Olive and Twist love what we call “Camp Katie”! They get plenty of exercise and love, so we don’t have to worry about how they’re doing when we’re away. Katie is experienced in dog behavior and care. We wouldn’t trust anyone more with our pups!

I have a completely fenced in backyard and also am comfortable crating dogs when I am not at home. My dogs are both 100% crate trained, so if the situation arises where they need to be crated while I am out running errands and leave the client's dogs out, that is perfectly fine. I provide access to clean and fresh water both inside the house and in the backyard. If I am traveling to a client's home, I am happy to make multiple trips during the day depending on the needs of the pet. I am flexible with my time and can be available for the client's pet at all times during the day. If overnights are required, I have the support at home for my dogs that I can comfortably stay with the client's pets.

Let me know if there are any specific instructions to keep your dogs or cats safe and healthy. If the animal is a picky eater, I'd love to get some inside tips and tricks to help avoid any issues. Also, if your animal is particularly attached to a certain toy or item, that's a great thing to know ahead of time to help them get settled in much quicker!
A typical day
One of the biggest perks about living in Madison is all the dog parks!! If I have the time to drive out to Verona, I love visiting the Prairie Moraine dog park, it's a great place to get some exercise! I live close to Monona bay, so I love walking dogs around the water, it's a beautiful spot and a great place to stretch our legs.

Availability
I work from home managing a family business but have plenty of flexible time. I take my dogs to the dog park in the mornings, so I already have an established dog routine. When I am pet sitting for friends, after the dog park visit, it's time for walks! I have the time to walk up to several times a day/ or in home visits.
