I love dogs, but can't have one full time. My summer condo does not allow dogs, so I can never have one. I already house sit for both my daughters when they go away. They have 5 dogs between them and I have never had a problem. I will stop and pet any dog that I come across when I take my daily walks, but I always ask permission first. Just last night, I petted a large white dog who was being walked by his owner. The dog wanted the attention and I was willing to provide it. I have had many dogs over my lifetime, the last one lived for 15 years and I loved her dearly. She was a fix terrier mix and was the best. I have had a bloodhound, a standard poodle, a white German shepard, a schnauzer, pug, and many mixed breeds. I have been raised on a farm with many animals. My niece in Virginia runs a dog rescue and has 5 personal dogs. I love them all and enjoy visiting her two bedroom apartment. They don't crowd me - they join me.
