BCSPCA Dog Training Experienced +
Pet care experience
Our Skills Together, we have: - Volunteer experience fostering puppies training to become service dogs with Ability Dogs Canada - Participated in service dog training sessions led by Ability Dogs Canada - Volunteer dog training and dog walking experience from the British Columbia Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (BC SPCA) - Raised in a dog-loving family household (Alexander’s mom used to be a dog trainer and have taught us plenty of tips and tricks for all things dogs and his grandfather used to breed and raise German Shepherds) - Been the designated dog aunt and dog uncle for many of our friends and family’s dogs over the years About Us My partner Alexander and I recently moved to Ottawa from BC with our two dogs Nalla and Kyubi. When we’re not home or working, we love to check out trails our neighbourhood has to offer, as well as venture around the new province of Ontario we now call home. About Nalla & Kyubi Our two dogs are part of our family. Nalla is a medium sized mixed breed who loves naps and is always up for a cuddle, while Kyubi is our small playful Pomsky who’s always happy to meet a new playmate. The two are best friends, both are spay and neutered, and house trained. Our Space We live in a single detached home with a fully fenced backyard. We do not have any children, nor any additional pets aside from our two dogs. What You Can Expect If your dog stays with us, they will be treated like a member of our family, get lots of love and cuddles, lots of play time in our fenced backyard, and lots of outdoor adventures. We only allow up to one additional dog to stay with us at a given time, so we can ensure that the new dog will receive the amount of love and attention they deserve.
Reviews
Kathryn and Alexander treated our 9-month-old Shihpoo puppy, Teddy like he was one of their own. We felt so confident and secure leaving him in their home for 5 days while we were out of province. They sent frequent pictures to ensure we felt included in his time away from home and it showcased how well Teddy was getting along with their own two dogs. Such precious photos. Their home and yard are clean and safe and we didn't have a moment of hesitation in leaving our cherished puppy in their care. I'd HIGHLY recommend Kathryn and Alexander. THANK YOU! ~Heather and Jerry
Kathryn & Alexander are great! Very responsive and open to us fur parents. Lots of pictures and attentive to our fur baby.
Luna had a fantastic time staying with Kathryn and Alexander! They are friendly, good communicators, and our dog took to them right away.
Alexander and Kathryn have a lot of dog-caring experience! The volunteer work they do fostering service dogs in training really gives back to the community. They are both so calm and caring - true animal lovers! Their two family dogs, Nalla and Kyubi, are also very well-trained and very friendly towards other dogs.

Safety, trust & environment
We believe in setting the dogs that enter our home up for success. For us, this means ensuring that every dog that we take care of feels safe and secure. To do this, we will always have your dog separated (opposite ends of the room) from our dogs during meal times, ensure that they have a designated safe space they can go to (either a dog bed or a kennel depending what they are accustomed to), and make sure that play times are always supervised.

Information Kathryn & Alexander N. would like to know about your pet
Please share what we can do to make your dog feel more at home. We have lots of spare doggie beds, food bowls, and poop bags if needed.
A typical day
We do lots of “find it” and snuffle mat games with our dogs, as well as lots of backyard playtime. There’s also a large field near our home that we bring our dogs to, and we have fifty foot leashes so they can run around safely. To wind down, or during those cozy days, your dog will also enjoy movie nights with us and cuddling on the couch.
