Future Dogtor Kat

Pet care experience

Welcome to my Rover profile! I'm Kat 😺, and I'm absolutely thrilled to start building connections with both clients and their furry companions. I'm delighted to share that I am currently pursuing my veterinary education. As I embark on this exciting journey, I would be honored to dedicate my time to getting to know and caring for your beloved pet. What distinguishes me as a pet sitter is my deep bond with animals, my solid veterinary background, and my unwavering dedication to their well-being. I've earned a vet assisting certification from high school and hold a bachelor's degree in biology. My experience as a veterinary technician in various clinics has honed my skills in animal handling, medication administration, and ensuring their safety. Over the years, I've lovingly provided exceptional care and affection to pets belonging to family and friends. Whether your pets are energetic puppies or cherished senior companions, I am here to provide them with the specialized care they deserve. I have a special place in my heart for senior pets and understand their unique needs. In fact, I have my own 16-year-old childhood dog, whom I've cherished since second grade, and a beloved 7-year-old cat 🐱.

Kathleen seemed to do great with my 2 cats. I appreciate the photos she sent! I also had to change the dates of the request and she was accommodating with that. Unfortunately, she copied the wrong dates to her calendar, so my cats went a day with no food, hence the lower rating.

Kat was wonderful with our pup! She sent a lot of pictures, documented all of our dogs’ meals and treats, and left us with a very happy dog and clean house. It was super comforting to know that our dog was being taken care of by such a kind and knowledgeable future vet.

When caring for a dog, it's essential to gather specific information in advance to ensure their well-being and provide top-notch care. Here are key details to keep in mind: veterinary contact, vaccination records, behavioral traits, exercise and activity needs, feeding schedule, dietary preferences, and emergency contacts. During each visit, I guarantee to provide check-ins both before and after, along with sending photos and a brief description of the visit.

A typical day

When it comes to fun activities with the dogs I watch, I strive to create an enjoyable and engaging experience for them. Here are some of the activities I like to do: 1)Playtime: I love playing fetch, tug-of-war, or engaging in other interactive games that cater to the dog's preferences. Whether it's indoors or in a fenced outdoor area, I ensure they have a blast and get their exercise. 2)Exploring Nature: Taking dogs for walks in parks or nature trails is one of my favorite activities. It provides them with mental stimulation and allows them to enjoy new sights, smells, and sounds. I choose locations that are safe, dog-friendly, and offer opportunities for them to explore and stretch their legs. 3)Dog Parks: If the dog is social and enjoys interacting with other dogs, I may take them to a local dog park. It's a great way for them to socialize, burn off energy, and have a chance to play with their furry friends. 4(Enrichment Games: To stimulate their minds, I incorporate puzzle toys, treat-dispensing toys, or other interactive games into their routine. These activities challenge their problem-solving skills and keep them mentally engaged. Ultimately, the activities will depend on the dog's personality, energy level, and preferences. I always prioritize their safety, comfort, and enjoyment, ensuring they have a wonderful time during our outings together.
