Animal Person for Hire :)

Pet care experience

I'm Kaden, I'm an avid animal lover and MFA donor, I have a snake, a gecko, two dogs, and a horse, and I'll come house sit for you no matter what weird and exotic pets you've got! I adore them ALL-- just let me know what your pet's specific needs are. I have no breeds/species I won't pet sit or take for walks. Need me to walk a cat? That works. Want me to pet sit your testy iguana? 100% cool with me, we'll be best buds by the end of the day. Got a bird who bites? I'll be careful, no worries! A pup who needs help potty training? Thats something I can definitely do! I'm available from 11am till any time you need!

Kathleen (Kaden) was great with our old girl Lucy! Lucy has night time dementia and needs even more TLC at night. She followed all our instructions and Lucy’s early morning walks were no problem. She sent lots of texts and pictures. We will definitely use Kaden again!

Honestly, Kaden was an answer to prayers! I had fallen behind in finding a pet sitter before my week-long cruise vacation in June. With 8 dogs I was afraid no one would agree to sit, especially since one dog tends to nip people she doesn't know or trust yet. Kaden was new to Rover, but after reading her bio, I thought she might just be the right person. Kaden was excellent in meeting and getting to know my dogs. Immediately after coming over, she sat down on the floor with all the dogs and put herself on their level. This baffled and disarmed the dogs who would usually be barking and acting with home-defense intentions! After only a little while, they decided that this "stranger" was OK - Kaden had won them over. One dog wanted to crawl into her lap for the whole time she was on the floor. I knew they would be in very good hands. Kaden was very accommodating by coming over super early in the morning because I had to leave for the airport at 3am and didn't have a spare bed for her to stay in the night before. She kept in contact with me frequently via email (I was on a ship and unable to receive texts), and sending the occasional photo. I will gladly ask her to house/pet sit for me in the future.

Information Kathleen L. would like to know about your pet

No breed preferences! Just let me know your pet's temperaments and anything that might upset them (i.e. do they not like being touched on the head? Do they not like being looked at in the eyes? Does your pet have a spot that shouldn't be touched?). Also, let me know if your dog needs medication-- I have a pup who needs eye drops and eye cream, I can and will administer meds as long as you can show me how much and where! Needles are a little iffy, so perhaps no injections, but oral meds, eye drops, ear drops, creams/ointments, changing bandages, etc are all doable! Let me know if your dog bites or if anything sets them off so I know what to watch out for! Biting won't mean I won't sit, but it will mean I will be more careful and may not take them to a dog park!

A typical day

If I'm pet sitting your pup, we might take a pit stop to the dog park, I've got a ball slingshot and a pack of raquet balls that will get them going and keep them happy and exercised! (Plus it takes a lot to pop a racquet ball, for those of you with big, strong jaw-ed dogs like German shepherds and pits!) We may take a walk down a hiking trail or around the local park.
