Pet care experience
Hello fellow fur parent! My lifelong love of dogs inspired me to attend the National K-9 School for Dog Trainers in 2014. I graduated as a Certified Professional Trainer (CPT), and am also Red Cross Certified in Pet First Aid and CPR (card is in photos - full copy available upon request). I was a member of a local not-for-profit dog agility training club for 13 years where I taught beginner dog agility classes, and often competed with my late husky mix, Sheba. I also have fostered and volunteered with the Texas Sled Dog Rescue, which I began working with after adopting my late husky in 2015. I have experience with a wide range of breeds, including large, mischievous breeds such as huskies and malamutes. I have cared for dogs of all ages, including 6 week old puppies up through 17+ year old senior dogs. During my 5+ years on Rover, I’ve also cared for cats of varying ages and temperaments. Through fostering and sitting, I’ve had experience caring for a variety of health conditions including heartworm positive dogs, dogs dealing with sarcoptic mange, and cats and dogs needing oral medications, eyedrops, and injected medications (including insulin). I’ve also had extensive experience with arthritic, deaf, and blind dogs, as my late senior pups had these issues. In my free time I enjoy spending time with my wonderful rescue dog Helo (5 yr old siberian husky, who I trained and is now my service dog), volunteering with a costumed performance group, maintaining my aquarium hobby, playing games, and watching movies. I jokingly refer to my pets as my zoo, as I have a number of small animals! I have three bearded dragons, a crested gecko, a leopard gecko, a peacock day gecko, and a few aquariums. I’ve had several types of birds and hermit crabs in the past, and have experience with turtles, rabbits, and guinea pigs as well. I’m more than happy to help out with any small animals you have! Note: ✅ I am more than happy to wear a mask during our meet and greet and/or drop-in visits. Please let me know if you have a preference. I generally stay up to date on vaccines due to an immunocompromised family member, so I’m more than happy to take whatever precautions you’d be most comfortable with.
Reviews
Kat was wonderful with our 2 Aussies! Our first time using Rover and the dogs did excellent. They were so happy and calm when we got home.
Katherine was wonderful! She was professional, communicative, and very accommodating. She gave us great peace of mind to drop in to check on our pup, we’ll absolutely be using her again!
Katherine is amazing! Our usual cat sitter moved, and we needed to put our trust in someone new. She did not disappoint! We have three cats, and one of them was having a hard time with us being gone and she was so patient while our kitty came around. She tended to not only their physical needs (food and scooping litter), but also made sure that they were happy. She took out the garbage and made sure our home was safe and lights were on at night etc. We will definitely be using her again! Highly recommend for all animals, she’s a true animal lover. 🙂
Katherine is an exceptional cat sitter, combining professionalism with a friendly demeanor. She provided flawless care for my cat, ensuring peace of mind with her reliable and compassionate approach. Highly recommended for her outstanding service and zero issues encountered.

🐕 For drop-in visits, I always give a potty break (in a fenced yard, or a leashed trip outside) and/or scoop litter box(es) each visit. After that I’ll check their water, can feed them if needed, play if they’d like to play, or just give lots of cuddles and scratches - whatever your furbaby would enjoy the most! I’ll make sure they’re safe and doing well, and send photos and a detailed update of our visit. If a cat is hiding for any reason, I’ll always make sure to find them every visit so we know they’re safe. ⚠️ I do require a meet & greet with you and your fur kid(s) before any booking. For new clients, I cannot accept same, next day, or last minute requests for dogs for the safety of all fur kids.
Information Katherine W. would like to know about your pet
I’d love to hear a bit about your pet’s personality! I will reach out if a request is sent so we can discuss your fur kid's needs. I’m open to all breeds for visits. It’s important that any pet I visit is up to date on vaccinations. Depending on the situation, I may request a copy (or digital photo, scan, etc) or to see their paper work to confirm, for the safety of all pets I interact with. Things to discuss for any visit: • Are your dog(s) crate trained? • Are they allowed on furniture? • Are they house-trained? How do they indicate they need to go out? • Do they have any fears or quirks? If so, how do you handle them? • Do they have any destructive tendencies? If so, towards what? (i.e. shoes) • Are they toy or food possessive? Where do they usually eat? • What types of chews are they allowed to have? (i.e. rawhides, bully sticks, dental treats, etc.) • Do they have any allergies or dietary restrictions? • Do they counter surf? • If we'll be going on leash for a bathroom break, how do they behave on leash? Do they walk with any training tools (gentle leader, prong collar, etc.)?
A typical day
After necessities are taken care of, your pet and I can spend the rest of the visit doing whatever they’d like! We can play fetch, cuddle, get belly rubs, play with any toys they like, or if they’re independent I’ll hang out with them so they have some company. I’ll be sure to send lots of photos and write a note about our visit.

🗓 I’m accepting new clients for drop-in visits, however due to my current situation, I’m unable to offer walks or take on daily long term visits. If you need occasional help or are going to be out of town, I’m happy to help! 🦎🪴 I’m willing to care for any animal if you have other pets. I have no fears when it comes to various creatures, and have no problem with feeder bugs if needed. I’m also happy to water plants, or do other small tasks such as putting trash cans at the curb or picking up mail. 🐈 Currently I am a pet caretaker full time. I’m typically home or visiting cats or dogs throughout the day, so my schedule is pretty flexible. I’m home for most holidays as my family is in town, and would be more than happy to help during those times.
