Pet care experience
There’s nothing better than the look on a dog’s face when they know that they’re happy and well taken care of! Getting to provide that happiness to pups is one of my biggest passions in life, so being a dog sitter really is a dream come true for me. I just want to ensure that every pup is receiving the love and happiness that they need to thrive in the world! In addition to being a long-time dog lover, I’ve also got a lot of experience taking care of dogs in a professional setting as well. I worked at a doggy day care when I was in grad school a few years ago, and it taught me so much about providing great hospitality to dogs. I learned a lot there, and I take those lessons with me to every stay and every pooch! I’ve also volunteered at an animal shelter in Washington, DC, so taking care of dogs that need a little bit extra TLC is just second nature to me. When taking on a new client, I typically like to schedule a meet-and-greet. It’s a great way to make sure that we’re all a good fit for one another, which is so important to me. Likewise, it gives us the opportunity to chat face-to-face about your pup and your care expectations. No one knows your dog better than you do, so it’s always great to chat with owners in person about what makes their pup tick! Finally, I just love meeting new dogs! I like to get down on their level to show them that I’m a welcome presence here to make friends, and I’m sure we’ll be best buddies in no time at all. My goal is to make you and your pup feel completely comfortable and well taken care of during a stay. For me, I believe that great communication is the best way to make that happen. Even before the stay starts, I like to chat and get a good idea about what makes your pup happy and what your care expectations are. That way, I can already start designing the dream stay for your pup. When they’re under my care, I’ll provide detailed daily updates on anything you need to be in the know on—from meal prep to exercises times to particular behaviors.
Reviews
Katherine is super nice and responsible. It was our first time using a dog sitter and took a little trial and error to figure out the right schedule. Katherine was very helpful and flexible during this process. Would highly recommend her!
Katherine did a wonder job with our two dogs. Katherine kept us updated with frequent photos of our little ones and she texted us updates throughout the day. Our dogs came home relaxed and very happy.
Katherine was wonderful with my dogs! She sent pictures. Overall the entire experience was positive and extremely professional. I look forward to working with Katherine again.
Katherine is an excellent sitter. She took car of my pet Floyd for two nights this last weekend. Floyd did a lot of walking with her and he enjoy those days as an authentic quality vacations. Thanks Katherine. I will recommend you to anybody who want their pet stay in good hands.

Some things I like to learn ahead of time: Would you like to schedule a meet-and-greet before the stay? What’s your preferred method of communication? Does your pup have any health issues that need to be tended to? For instance, dietary restrictions, medicine, or behavior triggers? Do you have a vet nearby that you trust? Is your dog spayed/neutered? Does your pup like to stick to a given schedule, like regular walks in the morning and evening? What does your pup do well around? What does your pup try to avoid? What’s the best way to spoil your pup?
A typical day
My neighborhood is called Little Havana. It's residential, with homes and sidewalks and some stores on a main street called SW 8th Street. We would go for plenty of walks in the residential area where I live, which is quiet with sidewalks and green spaces. I live two blocks from a long, skinny park called Cuban Memorial Boulevard Park, so we’d definitely head there for a nice long walk whenever the mood struck! If we wanted to go to a dog park, we’d take a trip out to to Coconut Grove dog park, about a mile from my home! I love my neighborhood because it's diverse and it has lots of different homes, stores, and restaurants. It's also very dog-friendly - there are all kinds of dogs that live in the neighborhood! There are tons of opportunities to make new friends, so we’re bound to meet some new buddies along the way.
