Hi! My name is Katie and I am a Pet Care Provider with 10+ years experience. For years I volunteered at the Mt. Vernon Animal Shelter where I assisted in taking care of the dogs and cats by cleaning, feeding and walking them as well as assisting with adoptions. I now volunteer with the Pet Adoption League and assist with adoption days and events plus fostering pets. Personally, I have two cats, but have had as many as seven, and have also owned many large breed dogs. All of them are like my children. Professionally, I have taken care of dogs and cats, whether through home visits or overnights in my home or a client's home. All of my clients love that I am a reliable, dependable sitter that treats their pets like my own - which I promise to do for yours! I know Katie from her volunteer work with animals. She has taken care of many foster animals over the years, many of these requiring medication as prescribed by a veterinarian. She has always been dedicated, diligent and loving to these animals and can always be depended upon to show kindness and love to animals. Dogs and cats also seem drawn to her with many a scared dog or cat responding to Katie when they would not to other volunteers.
Katie took excellent care of my dog, Prince. He liked her right away, and seemed calm and comfortable! She sent me pictures of him every day and texted me to tell me how he was doing. I have two cats to keep your fur baby company. I live in a larger townhouse, so there's also ample space if your pet needs alone time away from the cats, and they'll have plenty of space to stretch out.

My client's dogs are friendly with both people and other pets. I won't accept more than two dogs in my home at once, but occasionally there will be overlap with one other boarder. Therefore, your pet must like other dogs and especially cats, since I own two. My cats are friendly toward dogs, but do have free reign of the home. If your dog doesn't like cats, please don't request my services as I will not be able to accommodate.
A typical day
I provide loving, individualized care in my home or yours. Your pet will be treated like one of mine and given free reign of the home. However, when they are alone, until I can trust the dog with my cats, they will be confined to my bedroom or a crate during the day to prevent any accidents to the dog or to my cats. There is a lot of greenery in the neighborhood, but no fenced yard. Despite this, there are plenty of places to go for walks.

Availability
I'm currently working remote full-time, so if your pet stays with me, they'll have company all day long. If making visits to your home, I'm available before 9am and after 5pm for visits. If nearby, afternoon walks are also possible.
