Pet care experience
Dog training, behavior, and socialization are my passions, and I am always seeking to learn more. My first dog, Buzz, was an 18 months old border collie who washed out of a scent detection dog program, fearful of everything new or different from the kennel environment and lacking self-confidence. He also did not like other dogs around me at all. Buzz was the catalyst for my dog education journey, all because I wanted to give him the best life possible. After just over six years together, we had traveled and gone hiking in over ten states, competed in agility and nosework trials and earned several titles and awards, and participated in more than a few workshops and seminars, as well as the Fenzi Dog Sports Academy Summer Camp. He became a different dog entirely: happy to work with me on anything I asked him to do, with joy and pride in himself, and secure even around other dogs. While I would love to spend all my time with my current border collie mixes Raven and Nap, I also have to work from home as a remote transcriber. My work hours vary from day to day, but I always have breaks at least every 2-3 hours with enough free time throughout each day for meal times in puzzle toys, training, playing, outside breaks, and taking walks. We live very close to a park with a lake, which makes a 3-4 mile round trip walk depending on how much lakeside walking (or in the dogs' case, also swimming!) we do. I would love to get to know another couple of dogs who would enjoy being part of our daily routine on a regular basis, with as much or as little participation along with my dogs as they want to have a fun and positive experience. Reviews
Katherine is a wonderful caregiver for dogs. She went above and beyond when it came to caring for our pups. She took them for walks and spoiled them rotten. She went above and beyond when it came to sending pictures of my dogs. I could tell from the pictures that the dogs were feeling right at home with her. I very highly recommend Katherine, she is amazing!
