Grew up on a farm, love all animals
Pet care experience
I’ve been working through Rover providing pet care since May 2023 and it is my full time income source. My experience includes: 3 years of working with a Pomeranian breeder as an amateur groomer and enclosure cleaner as a teen, working with horse trainers as an aide, growing up on a farm caring for cows, chickens, ducks, geese, sheep, pigs, horses, dogs, cats, and other odd creatures. I raised and trained 6 different family dogs. I have 7 years of caring for my pet chameleon under my belt as well. I’ve pet sit many friends animals while they’re away and often picked up odd house and pet sitting jobs in my teen years. I lived with my siblings for 3 years who have a dog, and a cat, but I was not the primary caregiver for either of those animals, though I did assist with their care, and love hanging out with, walking, and playing with my dog-phew Murphy, and giving pets to my cat-eice Xena.
Reviews
Katherine is really great. My kitty is very people shy but warmed right up to her.
They were great with Chi Chi, had exactly the right amount of contact with us in terms of checking in with pictures and comments. I would definitely leave Chi Chi with them again. I cannot sing their praises enough. Book with them if you are looking for someone to look after your baby.
Katherine was amazing. Provided great updates and care for our cat. Katherine was able to administer multiple oral and topical medicine and a great help.
Katherine was awesome!! Super understanding when I was late buzzing in. I would definitely recommend!

Safety, trust & environment
How I care for pets is really dependent on the owner and the pet. My procedure would be to interview the pet owner about what their pet usually needs, and stick to that. I’m autistic and good at following rules. I love going on long walks, to dog parks, giving pets, playing, and hanging out with animals of all kinds, while respecting their boundaries and that not every pet loves that much attention. My goal is to establish some regular clients and become familiar with their pets needs.
Information Katherine H. would like to know about your pet
What is their normal day/routine like? What are their exercise needs? How are they around other dogs/bigger/smaller animals? How are they around people? Do they have any medical needs? What are their quirks?
A typical day
A typical day of house-sitting starts with walkies, or yard time for a potty break, followed by breakfast if they eat twice a day. I typically clean out and refill the water, and then feed myself. I usually spend my morning taking care of chores and writing projects, then start driving Uber Eats/Doorsash from 11-2ish. I take an afternoon break where I stop in if there are mid day check in /walk needs. I start driving again around 4/5 for the dinner rush which lasts until 7/8pm. If doggo eats dinner during those hours I make sure to swing by between orders. Then after 8 it’s evening walkies, which are typically longer, and play time to get our zoomies and extra energy. Then it’s night time routine and settling down for bed! If I have drop ins or walks scheduled with clients I plan my driving/orders around the area those pets live so it’s easy to drop in between orders within the owner’s preferred schedule.

Availability
I am a full time pet care provider through Rover and am an up-and-coming author, so my schedule is very flexible. I’m currently open to taking afternoon walking clients if you’re looking for your new regular walker.
