I have had dogs and cats since I was a child and have been caring for friends’ & family’s animals for years. I have also fostered many dogs over the years and volunteered in animal therapy programs with horses and with my own dog for the last 7 years. My Great Pyrenees recently passed and though I am not ready for a new dog yet, I can’t wait to give yours all the love! I am comfortable with dogs of all sizes and temperaments. I do have some work from home flexibility and will never leave your pet for more than 8 hours on days I am in the office. I am also available to watch your pet in your own home if that is preferred.

I typically have let pets roam freely in my own home if that’s what they are used to, though I can kennel when I’m gone if needed. I allow pets on the furniture and try to spend as much time with them as possible, knowing they aren’t just a pet, but part of your family. I understand the need for trust when it comes to someone watching your best friend and opt for over communication, with questions as they come up and daily photos of the fun we are having. NOTE: I just moved to Charlotte and live in a dog friendly apartment with a fenced in dog park area, I don’t have a yard of my own.

Availability
I will typically do a 20 minute walk in the morning and a longer walk in the evening. I am used to a twice a day feeding schedule - in the morning and at night, but can adapt to whatever your pet needs. On weekends and days I work from home your pet will not be alone more than four hours at a time. When I am in the office, I will not leave them alone more than 8 hours during the day as I live very close to my work.
