I would highly discourage you from using Katherine as a house sitter. The good: Our dogs and cat seemed happy and healthy when we returned. Katherine had pooper scooped the backyard for us which was greatly appreciated. She brought in the mail and left the spare bedroom and bathroom clean. The problems: Our neighbors let us know that there were young adults at our house. We did not agree to having Katherine's children come to our house whether or not they were supervised. Our hot tub had been used and a great deal of water had been splashed out of it. It was not tarped the way we keep it in the winter. I texted Katherine and asked who had been in the hot tub and got no response from her. Permission was not given for her or her children to use the hot tub. I had an older small ceramic skillet that I have no idea what someone fried in it on high or why someone would use a sharp utensil in the pan but did. The finish is ruined and there is a gouge where the ceramic coating has been removed in the middle of the pan. I had to scrub grease spatter off the cabinets above the stove as well as the gas stove burners. We also found several piles of dog poop in my husband's office which had been there for a few days. Our dogs do not have accidents in the house, so this let us know they were not let out after meals. The last straw was when I set my tea down this morning on our end table and noticed a damaged top. I have no idea what sharp object damaged the surface. Again, I texted Katherine about the damage and I have yet to get a response. I would not recommend this sitter and have filed a damage claim with Rover. I don't know if most house sitters help themselves to the home owner's pantry and that is normal and permitted/expected without permission. Prior Rover sitters have always provided their own food. One even bought me a new olive oil when she used mine because she had forgotten to bring hers. My food complaint may be petty. A new carton of bubbly water was opened and cans were placed in the fridge and one was left on my counter. I have no idea if anything else was eaten because we have a huge pantry and freezer. I was very disappointed in Katherine's professionalism as a house sitter.

Katherine was very helpful in taking a late request to watch our dogs who are working through difficult behavior training. Would recommend if needing a patient and confident sitter!
