House with large fenced in yard!

Pet care experience

Hello! Thank you for considering us and if you have any questions after perusing our detailed profile with helpful information about us please don't hesitate to inquire. Let us become Honorary Auntie and Uncle to your pets and have them come stay with us in our house named "Casa Mariposa" on a 7,000 square foot property with large fully 6ft fenced yard with long lawn to play on in a fantastic family and pet friendly neighborhood in La Mesa. I also provide dog walks and visit to our neighbors as well and can come for 30 minute walks 7 days a week (limited to one pet family a day, 2 leash trained dogs max per walk, with harnesses, but can bring our own leashes). Our home is aptly named for our Monarch and Swallowtail butterfly gardens. Your pets will have a serene naturalistic experience here. At this time we are only offer in home boarding to well behaved house trained dogs on a very limited and strict basis due to our physical limitations and airbnb schedule. Cats are always welcome. Caged and tanked pets are priced the same as cats per habitat We are a disabled married couple in our 40's who are retired professional pet service providers. Since we closed the doors to our professional business due to disabilities we do miss having fur-guests and our health has improved enough to offer the services again in specific capacitt. Having those extra fuzzy (or scaly or feathery etc) faces and goofy and sweet personalities around, even for short periods have been quite enjoyable and therapeutic for us as well. We've cared for not just dogs and cats but reptiles, amphibians, birds, small animals and more pretty much my entire life either personally, for friends and family or professionally over our entire lifetimes. About the only critters we won't care for are arachnids/insects/poisonous only because we are uncomfortable handling them in case of emergencies or natural disaster response. We do have experience with topical and oral medications, but can administer injections if simple enough and you show us your technique/application in person, scheduling drop off or initial meet and greet at medication time is usually adequate). We have one trained senior resident cat here who will stay in his own accommodations separate from any furguests since he is getting to be an old man now during the course of your pets stay. Not to worry he has a master suite all to himself. We are not in a position to offer any upfront payments out of pocket to the veterinarian or supplies for the animals care and are not a means of permanent rehome, so please be sure your Rover profile is up to date on complete pet care instructions prior to sit (we do what you say in your instructions to the "T"), emergency contact information, veterinarian payment authorization and whom will be your emergency permanent rehome for your pets ahead of time and that when your pets board with us, and that they will have enough refillable supplies to cover their entire stay with us plus extra in case of emergency overstays. We also ask that all behavioral issues are disclosed prior to stay so we can prepare for your pets arrival more adequately and be sure our rate accommodates the level of service just right. Our rates only cover the basics of time spent caring for the animal (feedings, medication administration, poop removal, and exercising), fair market price on space and utilities used and minor cleaning costs. For cats, tanked and caged pers it accommodates a total of 45 minutes. Including Rover commission. Although I will have some standard back up supplies here I cannot guarantee I will have what each client's pets may need (as every pet is special in their own way and have different needs and needs different stuff) so I do expect ALL pet care supplies the animal(s) will need to be brought here so you know your pets feel right at home in their home away from home with minimal disruption to their routine or comfort level. This includes but not limited to: bedding, pet furniture, food, treats, bowls, toys, chewies, seperation anxiety/behaviorial control supplies, leashes (if retractable make sure the weight rating on it is 3x time the weight of your pet and not used for larger animals), harnesses, clothing, medications, calming aids, training supplies, potty boxes and litter supplies, scratch posts, heating bulbs and filters for tanks, etc. For supplies that require replenishing (i.e. food, medication, litter, treats, etc) please be sure to bring 2-3 times as much as you think they will need for their stay just in case of emergency extended stay. At this time we are unable to take care of young dogs and puppies or dogs that are not housebroken, house-trained or have issues with transmittable diseases and parasites without appropriate medications. This is also our home as well where we live, work and rest and we do have a resident geriatric kitty cat who stays in his own space but has flea allergy dermatitis. All free roaming pets must be house broken/behavior trained and/or have appropriate pet supplies. There is only three couches animals are not allowed on to avoid the costly replacement should they get damaged. Rover does not have insurance that covers damage to a sitters property, unfortunately. However there is plenty of room for pet furniture and bedding and we keep bedding around just in case. They also must be already familiar with walks prior to staying with us, in other words knows "leash etiquette", otherwise their exercise will be limited to the yard for safety reasons. Our rates assume a normal expected level of animal maintenance, if you pets require more and is it disclosed prior to meet and greet, that is fine as well, but we may need to adjust the rate to accommodate your pets care needs. Services currently cover the following: feedings, play time, exercise, medication administration, several 5-10 minute potty breaks throughout the day, cleaning and sanitizing of the home prior to stay, litter box cleanings each day where applicable, housekeeping and laundry services for longer stays. So please be sure to fully disclose everything about your pets needs, behaviors, the way the communicate with humans and anything that would be helpful towards a smooth transition and continued routine so that we can prepare ahead of time for you guys. We just want to make sure the level of care you receive from us is what your furkid normally gets at home. As for visits to the clients and dog walks home much of the above but obviously just making necessary supplies available as needed to take care of the pets within the service requested. For all dog walks please be sure your walking accessories are a fit for your pets size and strength. Retractable leashes should accomdate 4 times the dogs weight and harnesses should be utilized to ensure pet escape isn't possible. I provide daily updates, cute pics (and video if a particularly adorable moment can be documented and shared) and texts as well as a short progress report at the end of the stay (so you are an informed satisfied pet owner) if there is any "heads up" type of info on behavior or care we noticed that was different than disclosed or out of the norm for the owner. We would prefer to avoid last minute service requests less than 24 hours from when services are needed. to allow time for proper sanitization of our home for your pets stay. For new reservations, a meet and greet (all free-roaming pets) is required at least a few days (72 hours is usually sufficient) in advance to make sure we are a match and our home meets the needs of your pets. This also gives the animal plenty of introductory smell opportunities so when it comes time to the sit they are already familiar and should acclimate quicker. We want to make sure boarding is a smooth and easy transition to a "home away from home" and that we are your extension of fur-parenting and that your furkids are well taken care of. I believe I covered all the basics pertinent to services, but should you have any questions don't hesitate to ask. I look forward to meeting with you and the furkids soon!

Kadee is a total animal lover and a great person. I dont have many friends here in SD, but she is one of a few I do have. She is trustworthy, loyal, and kindhearted. I have had her watch my pets before when I traveled. She is an outstanding pet sitter and cares a great deal for all creatures.

EVERYTHING - THE FULLY MONTY - please answer the below question upon first contact. We have a list of questions that we request prior to meet to greet with new clients (or repeating if information changes and needs to be updated) to cover some of the basics relating to dog walking and home boarding that can be included with your initial response. Feel free to skip the questions that are already covered in your public profile and pet care instructions. We want to make sure our home, us, you and your furkids are a workable match and if not, I should be able to refer you to Rover Match. Of course if either situation changes, we may end up being a match later. If you haven't completed your profile and/or need help in doing so at our meet up we would be happy to help just let us know ahead of time so we can budget the schedule accordingly with other obligations. First questions for you, the pet parent: Is your profile complete with information, pet care instructions, emergency and veterinarian contacts and would you need assistance completing that information? When might you be free for a meet and greet with me and you and your cats/dogs? What, if any, other services be needed for any other pets than the ones requested through Rover? Have you arranged veterinarian payments/authorization (or will) ahead of the reservation? Is your preferred veterinarian within 5 miles of La Mesa, CA 91942? Can you provide all pet supplies related to the care of the pet? Do you have any questions for us? Now questions regarding your furkids: If your dogs/cats are under 5 years old, do any still display puppy/kitten behaviors, if so what? Are your pets up-to-date on vaccinations and preventative parasite treatment (fleas, ticks, roundworms, etc)? Does the pet any specific health issues or take medication? Do any of the pets have any communicable diseases? Do your pets have a microchip/tattoo ID or other form of permanent tracking/identification device or what identification do they have? Is this your pets first time with an in home boarder? Has your pet ever been boarded before, and what types of boarding accommodations are they accustomed to? How has your pet responded to other home boarding situation and were there any issues with past boarding experiences? Is your pet used to being left alone and if so for how long and generally when? Is your pet house broken and house trained? Has the pet had any accidents in a home environment (yours or another) since being house trained/broken (middening, marking, peeing, pooping, etc)? If yes, what was the reason for the behavior? How does your pet handle being around people or other animals of any age? Does the pet have any history of displayed aggression or physical attack on any animals or people? If they have please describe any incident. Any specific animal/human quirks/aggression triggers we should be aware of? Does your pet have any particular risky behaviors or any history of such, such as damaging property/furniture, getting into the trash, chewing on foreign objects, and so forth or have the pets ever been known in the past year to display any risky behavior since receiving training and correction for those behaviors. If your pet is a dog(s), is this there first time working with a Dog Walker? How has your pet responded to other Dog Walkers and were there any issues with past walks? Is you pet leash trained/leash etiquette? Is your pet trained for walks? Any risky walk behaviors or responses we should be aware of? Has the pet ever been known to run away or escape? If this has happened before, how did you get them back? Does the pet behave differently when they are away from you? Do they have separation anxiety or other type of anxiety related behaviors? When your pet is anxious or experiencing separation anxiety, what helps soothe them? Is there anything that specifically causes the anxiety? Does your pet have any food or toy aggression or instincts to protect food or toys? Please be sure your profile includes all pertinent care information such as but not limited to: anything listed above, sleeping habits/location, meal/medication/water schedules, bathroom routine and schedule (and how they let you know they have to go potty and how often they go), any commands/words they know , usual routine for walks or exercise, types and quantity of treats given, if they are spayed/neutered, if they have any quirks that are normal behavior for them, specific tendencies or breed specific quirks that your sitter should know about, if they are crate or carrier trained and what the protocol and routine is for that, and anything else that will be useful to know ahead of and help your sitter plan ahead for your pets stay. Thanks so much! We look forward to caring for your pets very soon!!!
