Work from home in Ballard ?

Pet care experience

I grew up with a Golden Retriever and had the best Shiba Inu (ex got him in the breakup). I've been thinking about getting another pup for several years and just haven't pulled the trigger as I know what a huge commitment it is. So I thought I'd give Rover a shot, as I work from home and would love the company of a dog during the day, and also see if I'm ready to finally get my own.

We lucked out with Katharine, she really is a wonderful dog sitter. Videos and photos updates daily! Our dog is used to 20 for our attention and Katharine really was able to give her that. Can't say enough good things about this dog sitter. Highly recommended!

My sweet boy Roy came slightly unexpected since we had a pre-planned vacation quickly coming up, but we had been looking for the right one, and Roy appeared but with less than perfect timing. (Emerald City Rescue, we love them; help support them!) 98% of the time he is a super sweet, funny loving guy. But like me and maybe you, he has things to work on. About a week home with us he started showing signs he needs some relationship work with another family pet; not having time to properly address this behavior before our vacation I didn't want to put our house/dog sitting friend in a bad situation making things harder on him to get over it too. I had to find a best friend for Roy while we were out of the country; he needed a loving calm person who could give him lots of attention and give him some time as the only dog in the house. I never thought I'd leave a pet with a stranger, I love my furry monsters like others do their human monsters. This started as a really scary idea, and a last option. (I should mention, Roy had back surgery a month before we adopted him. His extra long back and neck are sensitive and he requires some special attention.) Katharine's smile opening the door relaxed Roy and I, within a few minutes in our meet and greet, I knew we'd found "the one" while my husband and I were out of the country. It was quick and easy for me to decide she'd be perfect for Roy, all my stress was put to rest; her first impression was that great, it was easy to decide she was kind person. About a week after our meet and greet, I returned for the drop off. Ugh, it's always tough going on vacation, those doggie good-byes. I left her with stairs, play pen, bed, etc. and a page of my rambling about his care and routine, and I left her place feeling good about it all. I was so excited to get a picture before I even drove away; Roy was already getting comfy with her, and I relaxed even more. I was so grateful for all the updates with pictures and even a few videos while we were gone! I got to see his happy face, and the video she got of his funny wiggly butt when he walks; priceless!! The time he spent with Katharine was the vacation he needed after going through the trauma of being surrendered, followed by his surgery, then his light drama with my golden retriever. It was clear he formed a bond with Katharine; coming home he was calm and much more relaxed around the dog he was having previous issues with. She has set the stage for the work I have to do now to strengthen that dog to dog relationship. (They are both under my chair sleeping right now, heads touching and I couldn't be happier!!) Katharine was perfect; that's the short version of all this. I'd try to outbid someone for her care in the future if needed; I feel certain you and your beloved dog will feel lucky to have found her, I sure do! A million "thanks" Katharine!!

I am always concerned everytime Katharine watches Porter. I sometimes suspect that my dog, Porter, loves her more than me. He gets so excited to see her and she also really looks forward to seeing him, too. She truly loves animals. Katharine doesn't just feed and walk your dog, she truly spends quality time with your, pet, too. I would recommend her to anyone!!!
