Pet care experience
I have had pets my whole life until my recent move here to Virginia. From Guinea Pigs to Ball Pythons, Pitbulls & Hairless Cats! Back in MI, I was a full time pet sitter for my old roommate who was a traveling Veterinarian Technician. We had 4 cats & 2 dogs in our house, as well as several special needs fosters over the years. I also have experience working for a pet groomer, so I'm familiar with many different breeds and the special coat care they might need. I currently sit a Pittbull named Omen & a Labradoodle puppy named Treasure. I have helped them both with gentle potty-training and learning new tricks! I frequently care for my In-Laws 2 dogs, Lilly & Mahli, whenever they go on Vacation or are out of town. They have strict schedules for dogs. They eat only at certain times, have a self proclaimed bed time ritual and Mahli needs medications, every day at specific times during the day. I also recently Cat-Sat my friends Cat (Kaleesi) for 3 weeks while he had to go out of state unexpectedly. I would visit her 2-3x a day to make sure she had clean litter, food, fresh water and hidden treats throughout his house to keep her occupied. I also bought a Lazer pointer to make sure she was getting enough activity every day too! Kaleesi is not a friendly cat and doesn't like many humans, I am officially the 3rd person she's allowed to pet her! (So Proud) I offer many different kinds of enrichment to keep pets active, happy and properly stimulated. I am always happy to send Pet-Parents pics and videos throughout the visit as well!

I have known Katelyn P. for approximately 5 years. She is a caring and conscientious individual who is a hard worker and avid animal lover. In the past, she has taken care of our 2 dogs and cat. She followed through with feeding schedules, bathroom breaks, and , most importantly, spending time caring for them attentively. I trust Katy with my pets and recommend her to anyone in need of pet care.
Katelyn has watched my puppy for almost his whole life, so far. He’s a 10 month pitbull and she has helped us through so many stages of growth. She is hands down one of his favorite humans. Out of all his human friends he reacts to her the closest to how he reacts to me. She takes him for good walks, requires his behavior to be as if he were with me, follows along with our designated hand signals for training, gives approved treats and finds movies that he enjoys immensely when it’s time to settle down. She has cared for him in good health and in bad. When he got sick for two weeks she made time to give him a comfortable environment with lots of love and attention and kept him calm. There are few people I trust as much as her in terms of caring for my fur baby. My boy is my whole world and she treats him as her own when they are together. 10/10 recommend for walking, day care AND over night care.
Katelyn is an animal lover and pet whisperer! She puts love affection and attention into every interaction with the pets and animals she comes in contact with on the regular! I joyfully recommend her!!

I am more than happy to care for your fur-baby in their own home, according to any specifications you have for them. I understand it's important for your pet to be in an environment they are already comfortable in, when introducing a new aspect into their schedule. I am comfortable with any special diets, medications or coat care they may need. If you need I can also care for your fur-baby in my home as well! I currently have food & water bowls, puppy pads, along with a few choice toys like Kongs, tennis balls, ropes, frizbees and stuffing-free animals. As I mentioned, I live in Downtown Lynchburg, there's plenty of dog friendly places to walk, with lots of exciting new smells! I'm very close to the wide open Riverfront Park and I love the trails on Percival's Island too! I do currently live in an apartment that allows pets and it's 1250 SQ ft so it's not a small cramped space at all! However, the only issue is it's on the 3rd floor, with no elevator. So any Large Senior dogs, that cannot be carried up, might have a problem with the stairs.

I will need to know if they have any Allergies, Food/Diet Restrictions as well as the Regular Schedules they are accustom to, to ensure your Fur Baby is as comfortable as possible. I will also need to know if they have any "Reactive" triggers for example Barking/Growling/Snarling around Food, Other Dogs,Animals or Children.
A typical day
I am quite active, I love to go for walks around Downtown Lynchburg. I have a Large Box filled with toys like Kongs, tennis balls, all natural rubber chewies, ropes, frizbees and stuffing-free animals. As I mentioned, I live in Downtown Lynchburg, there's plenty of dog friendly places to walk, with lots of exciting new smells! I'm very close to the wide open Riverfront Park and I love the trails on Percival's Island too! I am also more than willing to visit the Dog Park on the Blackwater Creek trail to get some extra socialization & play time in!

Availability
I'm fairly active and a bit of a Morning Person! I wake up at around 6am (I don't set alarms, I just naturally get up early) Around 6:30am my partner and I go for a 1 mile walk every morning before work. It wouldn't be a problem to add a 4 legged friend to that walk! I have Open Availability to do any in home visits you might need. I currently live in Downtown Lynchburg which is extremely dog-friendly. I am also very familiar with many of the dogs & their owners in my neighborhood. So (if your pet is not reactive) your pupper will already have friends to visit with on our walks around downtown.
