My name is Katelyn and I live in Burlington with my husband and two children. We live in a detached home with a fully fenced yard. We live steps to wooded trails with a creek, a favourite of my dogs and the dogs in my care! I have had dogs all of my life. I currently have two of my own rescue dogs. Both dogs were rescued from DIBS Rescue, where I have fostered over two dozen dogs in our home in the last few years, and continue to volunteer. I have dogsat for family and friends as well over the years. I'm a competant and trained dog walker, I can continue to carry through with whatever training your dog is used to. I am familiar with positive training and balanced training techniques. I have a very soft spot for senior dogs, as our late dog passed away at the ripe old age of 17, so we have a lot of experience with medication, incontienence, seizures, etc. We understand that ageing isn't easy and that seniors require extra calm and patience. I generally specialize in small dogs up to 25lbs for boarding and daycare. All dog sizes for walks and short visits.

Another great day for Chloe at Katelyn’s!
Katelyn was great with our little dog who was from a rescue and quite new to us. We met for a meet and greet and our dog was at home right away. Katelyn’s two little dogs where great, one had to warm up to our girl but it didn’t take long. Katelyn’s children were very dog Savy I didn’t know what kind of exposure our dog previously had to children but there were no issues. I didn’t worry once about leaving our new little family member with Katelyn for the first time. Thank you Katelyn Cookie is looking forward to future doggy daycare time.
Katelyn makes a safe and happy home for our dog, Chloe, to visit. I always feel confident in Katelyn‘s ability to take care of Chloe.

I'm a firm believer in safety, and I know that when your dog is in a new place it can be scary. With your permission, I have a Tractive GPS tracker that I will use for my boarders for added peace of mind, at no additional charge. As I have dogs and children in my own home, any boarding pets must be: - spayed and/or neutered (unless puppies or specific medical concerns) - up to date on vaccines - no unmanagemed behavioural issues (ie. no food aggression, other dog reactivity, resource guarding, bite record, etc.) - in poor health that hasn't been addressed by a veterinarian - if there are health concerns, those must be explicited stated and medication instructions must be provided - must provide me with your dog's vet contact information in the case of a health emergency in my care - must be provided with your contact information while you are away, and an additional emergency contact (someone who can make health decisions for your dog on your behalf) - Must be okay being around children. I have two children in my home ages 6 and 10. Our home is a comfortable, safe environment for even the most nervous of pets (which I have experience with through fostering), we all love animals, and going on walks, taking them on local adventures, and lots of cuddles and scratches! We treat everyone who enters our home like a member of the family. As per allergies, I do not service cats, to my regret.

Things I'd love to know about your dog ahead of time: - What is your dog's activity level? What kind of phsyical activity is your dog used to what are your expectations during boarding/walks? - Are they on flea and tick treatment (so I'll know to avoid wooded areas) - Does your dog require footwear/outerwear for specific concerns? Please advise. (including a thunder shirt, etc.) - Does your dog require walking aids such as a muzzle or prong collar please advise ahead of time and instruct on how to fit the dog. - What kind of a "walker" is your dog? Are they a puller? Do they have leash reactivity (cars, other dogs, people, etc.)? - Does your dog have digestional concerns, are on a special diet, anything they cannot eat? Anything I need to look for (quality of stool, etc.) depending on age/health issues. - What kind of medications (if any) is your dog on, how can it be stored/administered, how often, etc. Please supply a drug administration report and medication in original containers. - Any other concerns about your dog? Are they a flight risk? What are their general preferences? Do they have separation anxiety? Are they comfortable being crated? Are they housetrained/do they have regular accidents for whatever reason? Do they require diapering? Do they have an issue with humping, men, whining, excessive barking? Please advise ahead of time.
A typical day
I love nature, and most dogs do too! I live in Headon Forest area of Burlington, where there are lots of paths, and creeks and wooded areas for dogs to walk and take a quick dip. I have a long-leash for some games of fetch as well.

I work from home love having boarding dogs to keep me company! I have had dogs all my life, and have two dogs currently who make excellent playmates. We have a warm, loving household with two children who also understand dogs and love having them stay with us.
