Pet care experience
Hi! I have had a dog since I was born, so I have been a dog lover for quite literally my entire life. I currently have one dog (3 year old rescue), but I have been taking care of our family dogs for as long as I can remember. I am a volunteer with a local dog rescue and have experience around dogs with anxiety, aggressive leash walkers, overly excited pups and everything in between! I’ve also fostered through the rescue. I have experience being around large dogs and even the smallest of puppies. I will provide love and care for your furry friend while you cannot! I am available mostly on weekends! I have access to a car and am more than happy to travel into the surrounding DMV area. Looking forward to meeting your furry friend(s)! I am also fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

Kate was fantastic! Will absolutely use her again. My dog can be leash reactive, so he isn’t the easiest to walk and not everyone can handle him. We talked through it in advance of the walk and Kate was awesome!

Kate was amazing with our dog, Bean. She kept us updated while she stayed with Bean for the weekend and responded to messages promptly. She sent us pictures of her and let us know how she was doing. Bean was well taken care of and Kate made it apparent she cares for others pets! I would definitely recommend her to anyone who needs a dog sitter :)
Kate is a wonderful young professional who happens to love dogs. She has had dogs her whole life and when she moved to DC, she wanted to find a place where she could have a dog of her own. She just rescued a 6 month old puppy in September. If you want someone to treat your dog like one of her own, Kate is the person you want to call. She will take great care of your “fur baby”.

When in my home, I never leave the dogs unsupervised for their own safety. I let them sniff around and get a feel for the new space so that they can get comfortable and acclimated without being overwhelmed. In a client's home, I make sure I let the dog adjust to me being in their space.

How the dog likes to be approached/greeted is important for me to know ahead of time. I'm comfortable handling just about any level of leash walker, but that would also be good to know ahead of time. Also how they are with kids, other dogs, cars, and anything else we may come across on walks!
A typical day
I regularly do puzzle and other brain stimulating games with my high-energy dog, such as a treat dispenser you have to push around, rolling up kibble/treats in a towel, etc. I also live super close to the Glover Park/Whitehaven trails and enjoy taking my dog for a walk there.

Availability
I currently work in an office 5 days a week, but am available on weekends. I currently have a dog who I spent lots of time exercising and playing with. Dogs have been part of my life forever and I'd be happy to help out with yours!
