Ex Rescue Fosterer and slightly dog obsessed 😊

Pet care experience

Hello, I’ve had rescue dogs (and one non rescue) for 24 years. I am used to older larger dogs and their needs, dogs with particular health needs, traumatised dogs as well as more lively young pups. Me and my son have recently hung up our fostering shoes (fostered for 7 years for large rescue charity and German shepherd rescue) since we keep failing and adopting the ones with special needs and it’s time to now stop with who we have for a while :) . I would love our two dogs to have playmates come to stay and can cope with any additional needs they might have. If you do need a week or more then please get in touch even though my calendar might not say available depending upon the week i may be able to help.

Kate is a very experienced and knowledgeable dog owner, she has looked after my dogs on numerous occasions over many years and has given them lots of love and a very high standard of care. She has cared for all kinds of dogs large and small, some with complex needs, and all have received the same levels of commitment, understanding and care. I would recommend Kate very highly to look after any dog.

Kate is a very experienced dog carer. She’s cared for dogs as a foster carer, for nervous and flight risk dogs, dogs with disabilities, prepared dogs (with no previous exposure to humans) to be rehomed as well as offering end of life care to dogs who would not be rehomed. Her love for dogs is genuine and she would offer your dog a loving, safe and happy home. As well as her experience of working as a dog foster home, she has also had my dog numerous times, he views her home as his second home and has a wonderful time with her when he stays.

My home and garden was fully vetted for fostering rescue dogs. The garden is enclosed with secure gates and 5 foot min fences. I have a crate if anyone needs it for security but don’t really use it. I have a small porch to ensure dogs can’t get out when door goes. The dogs are allowed to flop wherever takes their fancy. They would be walked regularly for lovely strolls but can adapt and do short walks or only garden toilet breaks if that’s what a dogs health needs are.

Information kate s. would like to know about your pet

I adore all dogs, but would struggle with dogs that are reactive to others due to our own bunch. I can handle food guarding and feed separately.

A typical day

the dogs will have lots of time exploring the local trails, canal and river walks. Depending upon your wishes they can also be taken further afield in the car for some different smells.

Most of my life revolves around my dogs. I love long walks, trips to the coast and just chilling with them and spoiling them. Me and my teenage son also have one cat who tends to rule the roost but won’t be able to look after anyone who is particularly fond of chasing cats or doesn’t get on with them. Most of the dogs i have had are scared of the cat. The other in “we” is my teen son Archie. At no time will care be relinquished to him although he will very much enjoy being with them.
