It’s helpful to have information on your pet’s preferences, so I can try to stay as close to their normal routine as possible (favorite toys, treats, etc). I vary my approach on the needs of the individual animal, while making sure all their needs are met.

Anything special about your pet is helpful! I’ll need to know their feeding schedule, any special requirements for medication, socialization, or behavior. It’s always helpful to know what their past experience with pet sitters have been, as well as their daily likes and dislike, so I can make sure to meet their needs and gain their trust for a less stressful experience.
A typical day
I know every cat is different in what they are comfortable with, especially from strangers. Depending on what they prefer, I can play with them, pet or brush them, or just sit and let them get used to me until they are ready.

I’m a life-long cat lover and owner. In addition to having my own cats, I’m a foster with a cat rescue based near Madison. I know how stressful it is to leave your fur babies in the care of someone else, and I always treat the cats under my care with the same love and responsibility that I do my own.

Kate is the best pet sitter. She LOVES cats and has a lot of experience taking care of them and finding the right spots to pet. She has a handful of her own cats--- and works with cat rescues. I have had her watch my cats a couple of times when I was out of town--- and they loved her. She feeds and cleans up after them...and then spends time brushing, petting, cuddling and playing with them. I have one cat that is extremely cautious of any human--- and Kate spent time hanging out on my couch watching tv in hopes that my cat will warm up to her. My other two cats adore her because when she comes to my house she is there to give them all of the attention they want as she feeds and cleans up after them. She has experience with grouchy cats and cats with medical needs--- If you ask, she will send you photo updates and completely understands if you text for updates as she is a cat mom herself.
