Animal lover, trustworthy and reliable

Pet care experience

Always had cats and dogs in my family and can always be relied upon to care for them as their owners do, feeding, walking, company. My friends often rely on me to help with their pets when they go away and I've adminstered medication where needed. I've volunteered at the RSPCA and helped with cat socialising. I've been pet sitting professionally since April 2023 and have experience with border collies, a boxer, dalmatian, Italian greyhounds, pointers spynxh cats and many more . I've gained experience with dogs with separation anxiety and dogs who are also nervous of new people or other dogs. I take time to get to know your pet and will do extra visits before any stays IF your pet or you need extra reassurance (charges for fuel may apply, if further afield). I stay with your pet for the entire sit, and will only ever leave them alone if I pop to the shop or go somewhere that they can't come and they would never be left for mrie than 2 hours every few days or so . I love finding new walks to do and allowing your dog to get as much enrichment as possible. I'm friendly and open and always contactable. I have a DBS check and pet sitting insurance. All of my customers have re-booked numerous times.

Kate arrived promptly on the day and was excellent with our two dogs, she sent regular updates throughout the day with pictures and video. Very happy and would definitely use Kate again.

Kate agreed to look after our border collie, Loki for a period of six days whilst we were on holiday. She came round to meet Loki and get to know us, and we immediately felt like she was the right person for the job! Loki is a very loving dog towards people he knows, but can be a little wary of strangers, but we watched Kate carefully build a connection with him. Her patience, skill and care were in abundance and Loki was soon thrilled with his new friend! Kate shared a walk with us and Loki before our departure date to gain more of an insight into his routines and behaviours. By the time our holiday came around, we were completely relaxed and comfortable with the arrangements. Kate stayed in our house for the duration of our trip, giving Loki full one-to-one attention. She sent us regular photos, updates and mapped walks. We could see clearly just what a fantastic relationship she had built up with Loki and were thrilled! She was fun, friendly, attentive and totally respectful of our house and pup (she even hoovered the house and tidied before our return!) and we couldn't be happier. Not only is she a delightful human being, she clearly loves what she does and is exceptionally good at it - we wouldn't hesitate to use her services again. If you're thinking about hiring Kate's services, we would urge you to book her with full confidence.

I offer sitting services in your home, where your pet feels comfortable. I like to keep your pets in the routine that you have them in. I send multiple picture and video updates daily and maps of routes we have walked including dates, times and length. I will only take on larger dogs that are allowed off lead, or that don't pull when on lead, due to having chronic pain and shoulder and back instability as this ensures I can keep them safe to the best of my ability. I always keep your dog safe by putting them on lead if another walker has their dog on lead, to ensure both dogs are kept safe and I can easily control any situations that may arise. My time is fully focused on being with your pet for the duration of the sit, so your pet would very rarely spend time alone during a sit. I like pet parents to write down times for feeding and walks, knowledge of their pets favourite toys or places to go and any behaviours I should be aware of . I ask where they're allowed access to in your home and what makes them happiest.

Information Kate R. would like to know about your pet

Please advise me if your pet has any behaviours I should take into account, such as being nervous of other animals or new people, afraid of being in a car, not being allowed off the lead or not listening to commands . This way I can ensure they are kept safe and comfortable in all situations.

A typical day

I enjoy walking in the woods, particularly the forest of bere and venturing off of the beaten track, which gives dogs lots of new and interesting scents to sniff and keeps us from running into to many other walkers. I take water and a bowl for your pet to drink upon getting back to the car. I sometimes take a ball launcher if the owner has one. I come prepared with welly boots and a raincoat provided your pet doesn't mind walking in the rain. I prefer to do 1 walk a day, but can do 2 shorter walks if preferable. I like to get them to hunt for treats around the house or garden as a little at home enrichment. Happy to play with their favourite toys with them in the garden or just to give them comfort and company while you are absent.

I have no other work and don't book more than one service at a time, so I belong solely to your pet doe the duration. They would not be left alone for longer than it takes to go out for lunch or coffee once every few days (unless it's a dog friendly establishment where they can join me). I include up to a 1 hour walk per day, preferably somewhere they can run and have the wind in their fur. I prefer to take dogs that are well behaved on lead or who can be off-lead where appropriate due to previous back surgery and a shoulder issue.
