Will provide endless snuggles

Pet care experience

I understand how stressful it can be to find someone reliable to come to your home and care for your pet! Leaving your pup behind when you have to head out can be so tough, but it's much easier when you know they are in good hands. I have been a professional dog walker and pet caretaker in the Capital region for over a year now and have loved getting to know the pups in our area. Before that I managed a dog grooming salon in the area for around two years, getting to know the ins and outs of a different type of dog care. I enjoy taking care of animals, getting fresh air, and helping others - what better job could there be? Aside from Rover, I am independently contracted out to house-sit and care for my clients on a regular basis. My availability is flexible, and I look forward to getting to know you and your pup(s)!

Kate will become your dogs new best friend! I have used her for walks and overnight sitting. My two dogs love her. She writes detailed notes and sends texts of my dogs activities. Kate is super responsible and always on time. I highly recommend her!

Kate has been caring for our Golden Retriever, Crispin, in a variety of roles: as play group leader with several other dogs, as a dog walker, and most importantly, staying overnight in our home with him on two occasions, while we were away for several days. She is responsible, clearly very fond of dogs, and has gone "above and beyond"expectations for kind and thoughtful caring of our dog. For example, when staying with Crispin, she leaves a daily diary of meals, meds, walks and other activities, and the days and times these occurred. She texts updates and sends photos, such as recently when we were away, showing him up on our bed (allowed) snuggling with her crocheting (adorable). Even better, once when she encountered a problem, she let me know ASAP via text and waited for my instructions. I hasten to add that the problem was NOT her fault; another dog attacked our dog at the dog park--where I had asked her to take him--and she had quickly gotten him out of the park. All of the above have been extraordinarily reassuring for us as we treasure our dog and want the best care for him. I highly recommend Kate to your organization, for any dog care task.

Information Kate M. would like to know about your pet

I would like to know: - How the dog responds to people - How the dog responds to other dogs - Health and behavioral issues that I need to be aware of - Personality traits, interests of the dog - Commands such as "go potty" that may help your dog and I communicate

A typical day

The activities depend on the dog! For a dog with energy, we would go on neighborhood strolls for exercise and fresh air. If the dog is comfortable with an adventure, we could check out local parks (Normanskill and Hartman Road Park are two of my favorites). For a dog who is more laid pack, we can take frequent, shorter walks, and spend time relaxing at home, playing with toys, and most important of all ... getting pets!!
