I just moved down to the Durham area from NYC with my husband after he got a job here. I am currently unemployed and looking for jobs, but in the meantime I would love to take some dogs for walks. I adore all animals and I absolutely gush over any pup on the street. I love the outdoors and am a runner, so being able to combine my love for dogs, being active and helping others care for their dogs would be a dream. In NYC I would frequently dog sit and walk friend's dogs and often volunteered through the ASPCA to foster kittens. I would love to help out animals here in Durham and that starts by making sure each fur baby is well taken care of if and when their parents need a little extra help. Starting in college I worked with the Dumb Friends League to help train and socialize soon to be emotional support dogs, most breeds were mixed with strong lab or golden retriever DNA. They would would live with me over the weekend when the shelter was not open during their training. It was an incredible experience to have these furry companions to wake up to, work with and walk on the trails outside my house. Also during that time, I had dog sit a little puppy husky who was a challenge as he was very new to me and his parent. Huskies are stubborn, am I right? But Max was a sweetie and after running him, he did very well. When getting to NYC, I sat for many friends with differing breeds from Misty the Pug, an old breeding mom who loves all things food so you would have to hide and lock all items away, to Buster, a sweet cockapoo who loves to fetch and snuggle, and Rosie, a mutt with a fear of grates and a primal hatred of squirrels but that's just to name a few. Regardless each pup brought a brightness into my home like nothing else. I am a very patient person that understands that each dog, breed and person is different and am able to adjust to the needs of the pup.
