Pet care experience
I grew up with dogs and cats, and as an adult I have two dogs of my own. I adopted my first dog, Theo, when I graduated college back in 2015. I trained him as a puppy and we’ve been bonded ever since. He is a Bulldog/Beagle mix. My husband and I rescued our second dog in December of 2021, a Staffy mix named Bodhi. I also have experience training him by working with professionals at West Michigan K-9. I regularly cat and dog-sit for family and friends. I love taking care of animals!

My dogs are my children and I trust Kate 100% to take care of them. She loves my dogs like her own. I will definitely be calling Kate again to take care of my two, high energy Boston Terriers. Kate is the best!
Kate took great care of our two kitties while we were in Florida for a week! She came to check on them more than we asked for, which was so appreciated. The cats even knocked over a plant and she cleaned it up for us while we were gone. We also really appreciated the pics/kitty updates. I always feel better knowing they're in good care and they receive love and pets (not someone who just comes in and out and does the bare minimum). She's responsible, VERY reliable, and would definitely use her again for our upcoming trips.

I have a fenced yard, and a large dog crate that can be used as needed. I keep a water dish outside in the summer, that is regularly cleaned and filled so the dogs can stay hydrated during playtime. I also have a water dispenser inside and secure food containers for each dog, too. My husband and I have a camera in our living room, that we use to check on the dogs and talk to them when we are not home.

I need know if your pet gets along with other animals, as I have two dogs of my own. I also need to know what your dog’s energy level is and how far they typically walk. I never want to push a dog farther than they can go, and I also give them specialized care if need be. For house sitting and drop-in visits, I will need information on how much your pet eats, and how frequently, as well as any medications that need to be administered.
A typical day
Depending on the energy level of the dog, I will provide 1-2 walks a day and lots of playtime in my fenced backyard if they are staying with me. I also have a doggy treat puzzle for dogs to get some mental stimulation. I have dog toys for tough chewers and fabric toys for light chewers. My husband and I allow dogs on the furniture and we have lots of cuddle time. We live near a dog park, too, if you like to keep your dog socialized and I can make sure they get maximum playtime! I will never take a dog to a dog park without permission from the owner.

Availability
I take care of our dogs everyday by feeding them regularly, taking them out for potty and play breaks, walking them, and providing lots of cuddle time. I bathe them as needed, and brush them 2-3 times a week (they have short hair, so everyday grooming is not necessary, but can be provided if your pet has a thicker coat!). I also know how to clean a litter box for cat-sitting!
