Pet care experience
I grew up in a dog household, where our pups have ranged from labs and doodles to teacup chihuahuas, and my dad’s hobby farm added to my love for animals. My former roommate’s german shepherd took full advantage of having me around for walks, runs, and pets while his owner jetted off or worked 12-hour shifts, and I’d love to do the same for other pups stuck at home while their humans are away.

Kate took Bella on a walk today for the first time and we are very happy with her! We got photos, updates and she brought Bella her favorite treats -baby carrots! We are booking more walks for sure!!
Kate was just great. She was able to accommodate me at the last minute and was very responsive. I got updates and pictures throughout the walk.

While I don’t anticipate extended dogsitting, I am very trustworthy, careful, and detail-oriented in everything I do. That would certainly apply to checking in on your pup and making sure everything is in order, ensuring they are well cared for and any details on locking up, etc, are taken care of.

Always helpful to know more about your pup - energy level, anything to beware of if we’re out on a walk (like how they react to seeing other dogs out and about), etc. You know your dog best and what makes them most happy and comfortable.
A typical day
One of the things I love about Alexandria is how dog-friendly it is. I live on the Mt Vernon Trail, by the Jones Point Park - both great opportunities to get out, stretch our legs, and explore the neighborhood. I love to walk and jog, and all the better with pups alongside me. Whatever suits your dog’s mood, ability, and attitude.

I work from home as an editor and consultant, so my schedule is typically very open for checking in on and/or walking local pets (minus the occasional weekday morning Zoom call).
