I am an at-home caregiver for my parents and we would love to give your dog their own fun and cozy vacation while you’re away. All three of us will shower your pet with love and attention, from walks and playtime to cuddles and couch hangs. Your dog would be guaranteed lots of exercise — my mom and I go on long nature walks every day, and would love your pup to join us! (Im a supporter of letting them take long sniffs as a form of enrichment.) I would also be happy to take him/her on jogs if so desired! My dad gets up early and I stay up late, so between the three of us, your pup would get lots of potty breaks throughout the day. And while we provide comfort to your pet, your pet would be greatly helping my parents! At this stage in their life, they can no longer have pets, even though dogs were such a joy in both their lives. Hosting pups through Rover has been the next best thing! Our house is set on a 2-acre nature oasis in Wayzata, just steps from a 2-mile walking path (the one my mom and I walk every day). I have a pet cat in the home, but she stays with me in the basement apartment of the house, totally separate from where your dog would be. The house includes a fenced balcony / patio area, great for getting some fresh air or soaking in some sunshine. There is a huge backyard and front yard for more nature walks and exploration. As for myself, I have a lifelong passion for animals, and have taken care of a variety of animals since I was 5 years old. This passion led me to earning a zoology degree and eventually to working many years at a zoo. I am comfortable with dogs and cats of all sizes and personalities, and have been told I have a calming aura that seems to settle down anxious animals. I have experience administering oral meds and injections for dogs, cats and even tortoises. :) Bonus: I love taking pics and will send lots of photos during your pet’s stay.
