Hello! My name is Kate and I graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a B.S degree in Animal Science and Genetics & Genomics. I’ve taken care of animals since I can remember as my family had many dogs growing up. I am experienced in professionally caring for animals as I work at UW Veterinary Care. I am a Small Animal Float Vet Tech Assistant. Float means I “float” to whatever department requires me most that day. I have worked in the night ward, oncology, internal medicine, primary care, surgery, neurology, and ophthalmology departments so far! I was also the Student Manager of the Kennel Crew at UWVC, volunteered as a dog walker at the Oshkosh Area Humane Society, grew up around many dogs, and have had my own dog for over four years. I rescued my first dog when she was 2-months old and I just rescued my second dog! I learned responsibility, time management, and successful ways to balance my social, school, and work lives all while caring for and raising a puppy. I always knew I wanted my own dog, but I discovered my passion for caring for animals shortly after I began working at UW Veterinary Care. I look forward to meeting you and your pets!
