Pet care experience
Hi! My name is Katya and I recently graduated from UVM with a degree in Animal Science! I have been house and pet sitting 5+ years and began babysitting when I was 14! But quickly realized four-legged friends were more up my ally! I have also worked at my local VCA animal hospital for the past 4 years, giving me ample experience. Additionally, I worked in a veterinary ICU in Burlington providing me with the knowledge to handle many emergencies, god forbid they arise. This experience also means I am well equipped to handle patients that need medications or other special treatments (ex. Teeth brushing, application of antiseptic mousse, pilling etc.) As well as having ample experience caring for pets, bearded dragons included! I also genuinely love animals and enjoy their company! If your dog loves car rides and adventures we can take a trip to the local park and stop for a pup cup along the way!

Kate took fantastic care of my cat while I was away. She is communicative, understanding and accommodating to my cat's individual needs, and thoughtful. I loved the photos she took of my kitty and the time they spent together. My cat can be suspicious of people but she seemed to really love Kate and appreciate the attention. When I returned home, I was so touched by the card she left for me. I would not hesitate to trust Kate with future care.

I understand that every pet owner is different and I will always work with you to ensure your pet is receiving the best possible care while you are way (plus, of course pictures and videos of your beloved four legged friend!)

Please let me know about all triggers, allergies, and any other concerns ahead of time, so we can work to minimize fear and stress for all parties, as well as provide the best experience possible. Additionally, please provide veterinary information prior to house sitting stays, as well as a reliable number at which you can be reached OR, a trusted party that has been approved to make finical decisions regarding your pets care, should an emergency arise.
A typical day
Every situation is unique and I will cater our routine to your pet's needs and your comfort level! If we like car rides I would love to take them out on little adventures! If car rides are not our speed we can stick to long neighborhood walks! or if being a couch potato is our vibe we can stick to snuggles and belly rubs!

I am currently finishing up my pre-requisites for vet school, my class is online and asynchronous. This allows me to work around your pets needs! Please keep in mind I work Saturdays from 7am-4pm and thus will be unavailable to check in on your pet during those hours.
