Pet care experience
I have been surrounded by pets my whole life and am an animal lover in general. From birth until I was 9, we had a boxer as a part of our family. In 2008, I began to volunteer for various rescue organizations such as Reach 4 The Stars Rescue, Cause 4 Paws and the SPCA. I fostered litters of kittens including bottle feeding ones and ended up keeping 3 in the process. In 2010 my mom and I adopted a dog and in 2014 we adopted another. Two years ago, I moved out and left the dogs and cats with my mom. I didn't feel as though it would be fair to take the dogs (which are large breeds) and cats from the 3 floor house with a yard that they were used to, to an apartment. I would love to provide a loving, safe space for dogs and cats that need boarding while their owners are away. :)

Kate is a great sitter. I just relocated to Montreal and didn't want Charcoal sitting in a cage at boarding so I decided to try Rover. Kate made Charcoal feel right at home, sent frequent updates and photos. She even took Charcoal with to see friends and family. On top of all this Kate took time off work to be with Charcoal to help her settle in. Would highly recommend Kate and will use again!
Having known Kate for a while know, I can say that she is one of the few people that I would trust to take care of my dog. She's got a deep seated love for animals of all kinds, done a lot of work with a number of rescues, and treats everyone's animal with as much love as she would her own. Her friendly demeanour, patience, and previous experience with dogs of all kinds really worked wonders to help my dog get at ease and fall in love with her, even though he's got some trust/behaviour problems. I would recommend her to anyone looking for one of the best dog caregivers around.
Kate has always had a soft spot for animals of all shapes and sizes, if an animal is in need she is always there to assist in any way she can. She has an abundance of experience; from volunteering with animal rescue organizations, fostering litters of kittens that required extra special, round the clock care, to caring for her two family dogs that were rescued at a young age, from unfortunate previous homes. Kate is extremely dedicated, nurturing and gentle. She would be an excellent addition to your team.
