Hello! I am a current teacher with a love for animals! I have grown up with pets always in the house and have experience with various types of animals outside of my home. I currently live in a two story home with a large fenced in backyard where pets are free to roam and play! Dependent upon the day, I am usually in and out of the house (teaching and coaching) but am generally not away from the house for longer than 5 or 6 hours. I ensure that I am home before and after school, and throughout the evening to play with the pup(s) and let them out for a run! While I would love to care for your pets all day, every day, I do have work commitments that would lead me to be away from the home throughout the day. With this said I will do everything I can to provide for your pets and never leave them without someone to play with for too long! We had such a great experience with Kate. Our dog Lukas spent a day at her house and it was so much fun for him! We even joked he had better time than us at Niagara lol. They played at the backyard, went for a walk in the neighbourhood and Kate even took him for a swim in the pool. We got back absolutely happy to a tired pup. We are definitely coming back again. Kate Harpur is by far my first choice when I need a dog sitter in the Niagara Region. I have used her services on several occasions, the last one for a period of five days. During that time, she kept the house neat and tidy and stayed in communication with us on a regular basis, eliminating the stress of leaving the dog and house behind. Above all, Kate is trustworthy, and my dog Bear loves her. We would be happy to provide personal references upon request.
Where do I begin!! Kate has been a huge impact on my families (fur babies and all) life! After our previous dog passing away, it was time to get a new puppy in our lives. Of course with busy schedules (we are shift workers) it was difficult at times during these early weeks! Even with her busy schedule she made it work!

I have a fully fenced yard and a very gentle and loving house pony (as we call our Gentle Giant Great Dane). She is a very relaxed dog, but will play if another dog is up for it.

If your dog(s) require extra attention (i.e., medication, can not be left alone, constant care, etc.) please let me know ahead of time as I do work during the day and can not be home during regular working hours! I do not have any breed preferences, but dogs who love to play and exercise, and are friendly with all humans and dogs are preferred! We have no children in our home.
A typical day
I have many parks and green space in my neighbourhood for walks and runs with your fur children! While there is a dog park close to my house, I do NOT take dogs there as other dogs and dogs that are not my own can sometimes be unpredictable. Instead, I prefer walking on trails and paths around the park.

Availability
I am a full time teacher so my weekdays are spent at school. I typically leave just before 8 am and return (depending on the day) around 4 pm. I do coach so this sometimes requires me to be away from the home longer. I teach very close to my home, so I am able to usually get home quickly after my work day is done and my coaching obligations begin, but this is not always the case.
