I use to dog sit friends dogs since I was 16 years old and have had all sorts of animals my entire life. Absolutely love animals and since I'm a stay home wifey, I figured I'd do what I love full time. I have two dogs, a tortoise, 3 fish and a leopard gecko. I have had hamsters, a flying squirrel (not to be confused with sugar glider), snakes, a bearded dragon, turtles, cats, fire belly toads, pac man frogs and more. Pretty much the only animal I don't have experience with is a bird. Our home is fully fenced in and dog proof. We live on half an acre and have lots of room for the dogs to exercise and run around. I walk my big dog for about 45 minutes to 1 hour total a day so your dog (if allowed) will be walked daily. Both my husband and I have lived with dogs our entire lives and are both great with animals. Can't imagine our lives without these furry little animals.
