Pet care experience
Hey! I’m Kat :) Ever since I can remember I have loved animals. I wasn’t allowed any as a child, but that didn’t stop me from befriending the neighborhood pittie ‘Strawberry’ and taking in any found or stray animals. As my love grew for animals, so did my curiosity. I began volunteering at an equine therapy group, where I was first introduced to cats. My fascination and love have been evolving ever since. I have experience in home environments in single and multi-pet homes, working in daycare and boarding facilities, and currently working in veterinary medicine for going on 4 years! Through my experience I have learned how to listen to animals through the verbal and physical signals they give us humans. The best way to make friends with an animal is on their time and terms! I am absolutely OK with shy and/or fearful pets. I have families I dog sit for frequently, and I am open to staying in the home overnight, doing periodic drop-ins, or caring for them in my home if it is the right fit. I look forward to meeting you and your companion!

Kat was amazing, as always! So wonderful to be on vacation and know our pets are well taken care on.
We always have a great experience with Kat - she is thorough, responsive and loves animals. I have peace of mind traveling knowing she’s taking care of our various creatures.
Kat was amazing! She was great with my dog, Katie and kept me up to date throughout the weekend!! Her dog Frankie was an extra bonus, sweetest dog ever!!
Our trip was much more relaxing knowing our animals were in capable hands. Kat was thorough and caring with our pets. Will definitely see if she’s available when we travel again. Thanks Kat!

My apartment has a fenced in dog park for off-leash play and potty time. If I am staying at a home with no fence I take the dogs on multiple walks a day, and if approved, like to go out of the neighborhood to trails, parks, and dog parks depending on the animal and comfort level of myself, the owner, and the animal. When at home I am all about the cuddles and play time.

Information Kat A. would like to know about your pet
No breed preferences! All are welcome. I would like to know any specific cautions or medical information your pet may have, as well as allergies, and it’s normal routine! Knowing commands you use, such as ‘here’ vs ‘come’, ‘down’ vs ‘off’, etc. as to not confuse the animal or ask something of it that it may not know. If there are known triggers or flight risks that would also be extremely beneficial for me to know to ensure the absolute best care and safety for your pet and myself. All other quirks welcome!
A typical day
Mental and physical stimulation are so important for dogs to have. Not only does the physical stimulation get some of that energy out, but the mental stimulation gives your pet a job and task at hand to focus on. I am very big on fetch, walks, going on hikes around the twin cities parks and trails, going to dog parks, and using stimulation games such as lickimats and puzzles!

Pet care is apart of my daily routine! I do work full time. Depending on proximity to my work and home, I can do drop ins mid-day for potty breaks, medication administration or application, and/or anything else needed.
