Tell your dog I said hi 🥰

Pet care experience

Just a crazy dog lover trying to make some money doing something I love! Full story below. I grew up in Iowa City with Oreo, a Pekapoo, and my baby girl Tootsie, a Shih-Pom. I got Tootsie for Christmas when I was 8 years old, and she accompanied me through this crazy world all the way until I was 24. I am now 28, and to this day she is my lock screen picture still ❤️ Growing into an adult while Tootsie aged into a senior dog blessed me with a certain extra love for senior dogs, and I have since had 3 additional family dogs spend their last months/years with me. While Tootsie was in great health until her last day, my grandma's little Poodle mix was diagnosed with a heart valve malfunction. She was so perky and attention-loving that it was easy to see when she wasn't feeling good. By the end, I was giving her medicine every 4 hours, and she had to pee very often because of them. My family got a teddy bear puppy when I was 15, and although she didn't follow me around after I moved out, I did care for her for the last year or so of her life. Also a very perky and clingy thing, I noticed she was losing weight and she was soon diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. The illness progressed extremely fast and she let us know it was her time to go less than 2 months after that. Finally, my grandma's other dog was a Cockapoo and her antisocial, high strung self lived with (and outlived) the previous three. Triscuit was unreal, she had a very high tolerance for pain apparently. When her cherry eye erupted at age 12, she was literally more freaked out by my reacting and fussing over her than the incident itself. Her surgeon was confused at how normal she was acting and said she had to be in excruciating pain but she was too stubborn 🤣 I finally had to say goodbye to her last fall after a cancerous mass grew in her mouth. But, I had to do things for her that I didn't think I would be able to do...I am squeamish and this dog had me dabbing away bloody eye gunk, putting in eyedrops all the time, applying eye lubricant gel directly to her eyeball, and finding the perfect combo of wet and dry food for her tastes. Nowadays, I have a beautiful adult American pit mix named Zora, and her new little brother Archie who is a young corgi mix. I often give insulin shots to my mom's chihuahua, and take her labradoodles home from daycare. Obviously I could talk all day about dogs so I will stop here 😁

Karyssa loves animals! She will stop her car in the middle of the road to try to help a loose dog. She treats pets like they are her own.

I have a fenced yard, and access to my mom's fenced yard about 2 miles away if necessary for some reason. I have a baby gate separating the carpeted lower level from the laminate upper level where we mostly live. My older dog has some social issues and doesn't really play with any dog besides her brother, but Archie is a puppy and loooves to chase and play after he stops being shy. I have crates of various sizes at my house, but none bigger than the one for my pit mix. Probably not needed, but I also have dog clothes and Halloween costumes of all sizes if you want some funny pictures.

I just resigned from my full time job. I'm looking into opening my own business, but until then, I am looking for gigs like this! As long as my own dogs get their turn to go outside and get some attention, I'm happy to help with yours!
