TL'DR- Karin provided the bare minimum of her duties, and we ended up coming back from our vacation to a dirty apartment. Let's focus on the pets first. Being the pet lover I am, I provided Karin with very thorough and clear instructions on how to look after the pets. We came home and found the litter box very dirty. We usually clean it ourselves once a day, and the litter box looked way dirtier than it should be. The dog food bowl was over-flowing with food that was untouched. I cleaned up the bowl and got my dog some freshly mixed food, and she ate all of it right away meaning her meals weren't properly prepared. Both of the cats' food bowls were dirty with dried canned food meaning it wasn't rinsed/washed after use. I really wanted to think that Karin did everything she could to care for my pets but it just didn't look like it at all. During the trip, I had to constantly text Karin to check in since there were so very few proactive updates from her. I didn't want to be too obnoxious with my texting but I don't think it's ok to not get any updates for a whole day. This was my first experience having an in-house sitter. I provided Karin with a cleaned apartment, wifi, entertainment, snacks, and everything she needed to be comfortable. However, we came home to what it felt like a vacated airbnb. Karin had different guests over on few separate days, some of the guests kept their shoes on indoor and on the couch. Our floor was dirty. Our AC was on while the windows were wide open. There were dirty wine glasses in the dish washer. Kitchen Cabinets were all open. We came home from our vacation, only to be cleaning after our sitter and that felt bad. Karin was very verbally accommodating, however, she didn't inform me before the trip that she would be bringing guests to our apartment frequently. I trusted her with our pets and home, and to see a complete stranger on the pet cam before we even got to our hotel caused us a lot of stress. With that being said, I am relieved that my dog and 2 cats seems well and healthy. There were no pet accidents in the house, indicating that Karin did a good job taking the dog out. Besides spending about 2 hours cleaning the apartment after we came home, there were no permanent damage. And I am thankful of that. We are a couple that travels often, and we really wished Karin could be the one sitter we need. Unfortunately, we need someone who can respect our place, and do more than just the minimum for our pets.

Karin has both walked and dog sat my dogs many times. She responsible and professional but perhaps her best quality is how well she connects with my dear Bennie and Basil. They are always excited and happy to see her and she is equally as happy to see them! I would definitely recommend her services.
