I'm a full-time pet sitter certified by the National Association of Professional Pet Sitters. I have current dog and cat CPR certification and have completed training in pet first aid. (See photos for copies of certificates.) I have extensive experience with cats and dogs, including senior animals and those with health issues. As of May 2024, I've provided professional care to over 77 animals (46 dogs, 25 cats, three reptiles, one rodent, two sets of fish) for 42 households. I've lived with eight cats, seven dogs, one rabbit, one horse, one pony, one Quaker parrot, and two guinea pigs (not all at the same time!). Before I started doing this professionally, people I know entrusted me with the care of cats, dogs, horses, a rabbit, a chinchilla, an iguana, and many houseplants, and I've been a volunteer dog walker for an animal shelter.

Karin is extremely contentious and takes great care of our two cats, one of whom is an older cat with a complicated medical regimen.
Karin is a real treasure! Our little dog is the quintessential "fur child" who had never been left with anyone except a family member. This was the best petsitting experience ever! Luna was pleased to see us when we got back but not with any of that "I thought you were never coming home" attitude. She was clearly more than contented with Karin stepping in as her caregiver and I couldn't be any more pleased. I'm not kidding when I say we will likely plan our future vacations around Karin's schedule!
Karin is everything you would want in an in-home pet sitter plus more. She was communicative, professional and attentive, all while lovingly caring for our pet! This was our first time using Karin and after our initial meeting I had complete confidence in her ability to do an excellent job. We (our pet pug too) look forward to working with Karin again soon!
Karin stayed at my home and was amazing. She is flexible and easy to communicate with. She is very thorough which makes me more comfortable. Will definitely use her again!

I like to know about any health or behavioral issues and your usual ways of addressing them. I like to know how a dog may react to encountering other dogs and people on walks. I also like to know about food sensitivities, favorite treats and toys, and an animal's usual routine so I can stick to it as much as possible.
A typical day
I love to take dogs to their favorite places, or to explore new areas! Parks, neighborhoods, beaches, even looking for geocaches if that's something the dog would enjoy.

Availability
I provide overnight sitting services, caring for your pets and home while you are away. Please note that I am not generally available for drop-ins or daytime-only sits. I am flexible about arrival and departure times within the constraints of other sits before or after yours. I work remotely, so I will be able to spend most of my time keeping your animal(s) company and making sure that all is well in your home. Though I plan to be at home with the animal(s) most of the time, I do appreciate knowing how long they can go between potty breaks/meals/meds, etc. so I can schedule meetings/errands/appointments in a way that supports the animal's comfort.
