I have a lifelong passion dogs, and have been everything from an owner, to trainer, to walker, and all sorts of other jobs. I have over 20 years experience in dog care & training, including on and off leash obedience, behavior problem solving and competitive dog sports. I began training dogs when I was five years old with my father who raised and competed in obedience trials with black German Shepherds. I have a certificate in Dog Trainer Foundations from the world recognized Karen Pryor Animal Training Academy and completed Dr. Ian Dunbar’s SIRIUS Dog Trainer Academy. I am a professional member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers (APDT), the International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants, the National Association of Professional Pet Sitters and Pet Sitters International. I also actively and avidly pursues ongoing continuing education and professional development through seminars and staying current on industry research. I currently completing the Canine Behavior Consultant Diploma with the International College of Canine Studies. Needless to say, your pup will be in great hands with me! I do not have a dog right now (since I had two children and wanted to wait until they were older), but plan on getting a furry friend within the next 12 months. But that also means that your pup will have my undivided attention! My kids also love dogs, so we will all have a great time together. There will definitely be no shortage of fun around the house. I do not have a breed preference and have experience working with dogs of all sizes. I would want to know the dog's temperament and whether there are any signs of aggression towards other dogs, animals or people or signs of fear, etc. (you can read more about that below). For new clients, I always like to do a meet-and-greet first to establish a good working relationship between me and your pup. My goal would be to have your dog be aware of my presence and happy when they saw me.
