Pet care experience
I have three years professional experience working with dogs, and have had dogs my entire life. Mostly gentle giants, like shepherds. I worked at a dog daycare for a year and then at Leader Dogs for the Blind for 2 years. I recently left the job to pursue a career in emergency medicine. But I miss being around pups! I would like to use the holidays not only as a means to study before I take my final exam, but to spend time with some wonderful pups! If you are looking for somebody to stay at home with your pets over Christmas and/or New Years then I’m the one for you! Ideally, I would like a stay of a week or longer. It will be my only job (besides studying) so I’ll have plenty of time to spend with your pets. I am more than happy to care for multiple animals and species as well. I have experience with special needs animals, old and young, energetic and lazy, and everything in between. I have been a Rover sitter before, and it was a wonderful experience. I enjoyed every minute that I spent petsitting and am looking forward to doing it again.

Chunky is always happy to see Karena and gets tons of play time. When I come home, it seems like I wasnt even missed! Karena is awesome about sending updates and pictures and making sure that you and your furr-kid are as happy and comfortable as possible! I have used her twice already and we already plan on using her again. Thank you Karena for giving my family the flexibility to be able to go on vacation without having to worry about boarding or having to leave him at a friends house!
Karena was seriously the best! We were gone for our wedding and had just met her but any concerns we had went away the minute we met her! She is a very sweet, responsible person who is as much of a nut about dogs as we are! She even works for a well known kennel so is very experienced in caring for dogs. While we were gone I never once had to ask how the dogs were doing because she sent pics and updates often! Our little one who is pretty skiddish warmed up to her right away and she sent pics of the cuddling :) we will def be inviting Karena over again to hang with our pups...
Great pet sitter. I've had her at my home various weekends when I've had to go out of town Friday to Sunday. She did a great job caring for my animals, loved on them and even brushed out my dog due to his massive shedding. Highly recommend.

A typical day
My activities will depend on the dog- a lazy dog will get a short a walk and then lots of belly rubs. A more active dog will get a long walk and games of fetch and tug-war- until they're worn out. I want every dog to be happy and sleepy by the time I leave.
