Hello! I’m so excited to be on Rover. My name is Karen and I’m a native Chicagoan, born and raised in the Gage Park neighborhood. I am friendly, outgoing, and caring. I love all animals but dogs are my forte. I’ve cared for many pets over the last five years. I really enjoy making lasting connections with my clients and their furry family. I treat your pet as my own while they’re in my care and I love sharing lots of videos and pictures. If you’re traveling and flying out of Midway, I’m your girl! I can’t wait to meet you!

Karen has a heart of pure GOLD when it comes to animals. She is not only patient and attentive when it comes to petcare, but is also super in tune with their needs. I have to travel often for work and she has been my go-to sitter for about the past year. I appreciate all the pics she sends me and also how quick she replies. I feel at ease when I know it's her. Definitely would recommend!
Karen is a kind and caring pet caregiver - she is attentive to their needs, responsible, organized and fun! My kitties were months old when I needed an emergency pet sitter. Karen volunteered right away and was very careful about their feeding schedule as well as keeping them entertained. I would absolutely recommend her for any pet needs!
Karen was our sitter for my 8 year old Schnauzer mix, Jicama. I couldn't be happier! Jicama can be pretty tough around new people, but she is some sort of dog whisperer and were best friends after the weekend. I'd highly recommend Karen. She is super communicative and accommodating. I was running late to pick up Jicama but she was more than willing to care for him a few more hours.

I have a large fenced in yard and live in a calm, residential neighborhood. When walking your dog, I always use precaution and I never leave the house without the appropriate leash and harness. I also never walk dogs when it’s dark out. I never leave a dog unsupervised. “Better Safe Than Sorry” is really my motto when it comes to pet sitting!

Please let me know what your dog’s triggers are on walks, and how he/she behaves around people, children, and other dogs/animals. Let me know of any dietary allergies or restrictions, and also let me know what their personality is like, and things they love! Please note I do require owners to bring me their own harness/leash, food, treats, bed, and any comfort toys they use at home to help with potential separation anxiety. If you crate your dog, also bring that as well, in the event I have to step out for an errand, etc.
A typical day
I love playing games and stimulating dogs with toys, cuddles, and exercise. I like spending as much time in the sunshine as possible, weather permitting. There’s a park near my house where I sometimes go for a stroll, but the dog is always secure on the leash. My yard is medium sized so I let dogs run freely there! I also love hanging out indoors too, especially if the dog is older or more chill.

I’m a full time Artist, DJ, and Event Coordinator. I work from home and am looking to supplement my income with sittings when I have downtime. I don’t accept bookings on nights that I work so that I can be with your pet the entire time. I’m a planner so my calendar is always up to date! Feel free to reach out if you have any questions.
