Walks and loving care for your pet!
Pet care experience
My last professional experience was as a kennel attendant with a dog boarding and day care service near downtown Chicago. I supervised, fed, and walked dogs of all sizes, temperaments and ages. I believe each dog has their own special gift and energy that they bring to those who know them - it's what I love most about caring for them! Pets aren't just animals - they are family and often the one true love in a pet parent''s life. I have been with and cared for animals all my life. I understand that they are invaluable companions and should be treated with love and respect. I can walk, feed, brush, play with and clean up after your special friend. I believe that rewards with verbal praise, treats and toys - not punishment - is the only acceptable form of interaction with dogs. Time outs and a strong "no!" are often the best way to deal with unacceptable behavior. I can administer oral medication upon further discussion. I am available mostly for walks and day sitting in your space, but I definitely use our initial meeting to discuss what’s best for you and your fur companion. I can also make accommodations for an overnight stay with at least one week's notice. Please don't hesitate to call if you have questions!
Reviews
I believe that Karen Pallist is more than qualified to be a dog sitter/ walker. She is currently working responsibly for Camp Bow Wow and had a positive loving relationship in caring for her pet dog, Shelby. She has expressed and shown a love for animals since I have known her which now includes her present pet cat, Cisco. I do not hesitate in recommending her for sitting or walking your dog. She will provide a loving conscientious service for and toward your pet.
Karen is great with dogs. I’ve worked along side her at a doggie daycare. We are in charge of watching up to 25 dogs at a time and reading the dogs body language for safe play. Some dogs were small while other are very large. But none that Karen couldn’t handle. She is devoted, kind, and gentle with all of the dogs here. I would trust her with my own babies.
I have known Karen for 10 years and found her to among the most responsible, reliable, and compassionate people I've ever met. She loves being with animals and believes strongly that they are invaluable companions. I am sure she will be a conscientious and loving sitter for any pet in her care.

I can’t have pet visitors in my home at this time, and am hoping that will soon change! In the meantime I try to get most things covered during the "meet and greet”, where I will get acquainted with you and your pup to discuss their temperament and behavior patterns, health concerns, and any other needs you have. While I strive to be as helpful as possible, clear communication on both sides is essential for having the most positive experience with your pup!
Information Karen P. would like to know about your pet
Medication needs. I have experience working with blind, deaf and senior dogs. I will ask you about their breed, age, energy levels and gender as well as their experience with other dogs and humans. It’s also important to know their medical history, allergies and tolerances. There’s no breed that I won’t work with, although my favorite dogs are huskies!
A typical day
Playtime is super important, and individual to the dog. I can use a number of styles that best fit your needs, from open play with balls and other chew and rope toys to simply practicing basic commands or learning to walk better on a leash. If your dog is a senior, needs a slower. more relaxed exercise session, or just likes to relax and hang out with someone giving them unconditional love and attention, that’s fine as well.
