Registered Veterinary Technician

Pet care experience

I am an experienced and mature registered veterinary technician and professional estate caretaker. I have been caring for animals professionally for thirty years working in emergency, general, and cat-specific veterinary hospitals. I have been pet-sitting for as many years and have also been providing in-home nursing care for pets. This included medication administration, insulin injections, blood glucose monitoring, fluid administration, bandage changes, and more. I love caring for cats and dogs but I am also happy to care for rabbits, birds, fish, and many other small mammals. Beyond my pet-specific experience, I also worked in private estates cooking, cleaning, gardening, caring for pets, running errands, household assistant, providing security, and more. I am someone who you can completely trust with your pets and home.

Karen is the best! I have known her for over twenty years and have trusted her with all my pet and house sitting needs. My little ones love her and are relaxed and happy when I come home. Karen is also a vet tech and was very reliable on dispensing medications and tracking health when I had to leave on a last minute business trip. It was a relief to have my pets watched by someone who truly cares for them!

Karen is a phenomenal and trustworthy dog sitter. She will love and care for your babies as if they were her own. She can be counted on to show up on time, feed and walk them as directed, give them their meds, check healing surgeries if necessary and love on them. Her vet tech exerience is a bonus if you have a pet with medical issues. She also watered my plants and got the mail. Make your pups happy and hire Karen to care for them when you're away!

Safety, trust & environment

My approach to animals is calm and easy-going. I like to give them time to warm up to me and learn that I am a person they can trust. Knowing about your pet's routine is key and I work hard to keep them in that routine as best as possible to eliminate stress and increase comfort and happiness for them. You tell me what works best for them and I am on board! I am available for drop-in visits, walks, and overnights. I am also available for any nursing care needs and am happy to work with your veterinarian to provide this care. I am currently not offering to sit in my home.

Information Karen L. would like to know about your pet

It is important to know about anything particular regarding your pet. If they react better a certain way of being greeted. If they like their meal a certain way or any medications they need. Please let me know if your pet has recently had any problems such as diarrhea or vomiting before you leave. I also like to know who your vet is and have you let them know that I am taking care of your pet and have permission to bring them in if needed. Make me aware of anything that will keep your pet safe and happy in my care.

A typical day

I am happy to engage in many fun activities with dogs and cats. I particularly like walking, fetching, rubs, pets, snuggles, and brushing. I can keep up with any training you are working on as well. You tell me what makes your pet happy!
