I have been an animal lover since childhood, especially when it comes to dogs. I have had 3 Alaskan Malamutes, a poodle mix, a Cocker Spaniel and a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. I see them all as unique, even among specific breeds. This helps in the understanding of their behavior, their likes/dislikes and what is comforting for them. I firmly believe in positive reinforcement and do not feel that it is ever warranted to use corporal punishment with our pets. I have been through obedience training with several of my dogs and continue to utilize the skills and strategies learned there. I have a very pet friendly house. I don’t have issues with dogs on the furniture (I’ve always let my own). I have a very large fenced yard with mature trees. I only work part time so I’m usually only gone for a few hours at a time. I do not force my animals to stay outside- it’s an open door policy- if they want to be outside they can but they can also come in whenever they want. I will do whatever I can to make your pet feel secure, comfortable and cared for.
