I Care For Your Fur Baby As My Own
Pet care experience
I have adored animals of all kinds my entire life. For the last 10 years, my husband and I have adopted multiple times from the Twin Falls Animal Shelter. Our first baby that we adopted in 2012, was a Rottweiler and Shepard mix. We named her, Emma. We were lucky enough to have had her in our lives for close to 10 years before she passed due to cancer. We miss her terribly but are so grateful for the time we shared with her. Our second, was a Mastiff mix who had been left, tied to a tree at the Animal Shelter. The moment I saw him, I knew he needed a safe place to live out his golden years. He was a senior dog when we brought him home. We had him in our lives for only 3 months before he succumbed to cancer as well. We'd like to think that they were the best 3 months of his life because he sure made our lives more beautiful. The 3rd baby we adopted was Boomer in 2015. We went to the shelter on the 3rd of July not planning to bring anyone home with us..... Until we saw Boomer, that is. His front legs were very deformed, which probably hindered his chances of adoption) and looked like they caused him pain but he was so energetic and happy that after we met and played with him for a bit, we knew it was right! He is still with us, happy and spunky as ever, despite his ripe old age of 13. We decided that we needed a kitty in 2016 so we went to the shelter again looking to adopt a black kitty or one of the cats who has been there far too long. My husband was drawn straight to a fluffy tabby mix and picked her up. She nuzzled her sweet little nose into his neck and we just melted! We learned that she had been at the shelter for 3 months and no one had really given her a second look. We're so glad they didn't because now we have her in our lives. We named her Ellie. She is still with us as well, and has definitely become one of the pack. Sometimes, we think she just might have a little bit of canine in her. The most recent baby is a Saint Bernard & Standard Poodle mix that we adopted through the Idaho Saint Bernard Rescue. We brought her home in 2017 and named her Zoey. She was quite the little trouble maker but we loved getting the chance to raise her from a puppy. She has the looks of a Saint Bernard and the goofy energy of a poodle that keeps us on our toes but we wouldn't have it any other way! It was, and is, very important to us that every dog or kitty gets a chance at love and happiness, regardless of how they might look or special needs they may require. Despite what some may think, you can teach an old dog new tricks and we've been lucky enough to have been a part of their healing. With patience, consistency, and time, we were able to coax each of them to feel confident, safe, loved, and become their genuine selves. Few things in life are more fulfilling than seeing a life that has been damaged by abuse or neglect, grow into a trusting and forgiving soul that loves unconditionally. We have also been part of rescue groups in this state that facilitate adoptions and helps with the safe transfer of animals that need a second chance. The bottom line is, regardless of your fur baby's needs, we will do our best to see that they will be cared for and treated like one of our own.
Reviews
Milo loved Karen and was so comfortable with her. I received several photos and he was in heaven! Thanks Karen!
Karen is absolutely incredible! My puppy is super attached and struggles when getting left at a new place. We both have separation anxiety😂. Karen was extremely patient and kind with her and me! I am extremely hesitant with who I leave my dog with and I trust Karen with all my heart. She sent me multiple updates, pictures, and videos. Book her!!
Karen has done a fantastic job with our dog. She always makes sure to send pictures and videos and give us updates on how our pup is doing, and she was extremely easy to work with when our schedule changed last minute before we had to drop her off. Our dog was super excited to see her the second time we boarded her with Karen which is definitely a good sign! And we absolutely love the videos of walks and play time.
Karen was so great with my dog. She helped him get through the scary fireworks on the 4th.

Our fur kids are always inside, except for potty breaks, play time(Depending on the weather) and going for walks. Our home is a child free home that is great for seniors or any dog who needs a calm environment. We have a large, fenced backyard with lots of room to safely play and chase the local squirrels. Inside, we have high quality pet gates placed in areas of our home that keep everyone safe and accounted for. We have extra crates in separate rooms, just in case anyone needs an even quieter place to unwind or take a nap. We also keep all doors closed to rooms and bathrooms to ensure extra safety as well, just in case of a curious wanderer. We make sure that no toxic or harmful items will be in reach of curious little mouths. We have a puppy so we have a Spidey Sense for these things. On days that are too cold or too hot to play outside, we have a designated play room that has heat and air conditioning to keep everyone comfortable, regardless of the season. If in your home, I will be sure to learn your exact expectations and routine that works the best for you and your fuzzy friend. I want you both to have a fantastic experience! Thank you so very much for considering us for your sweet fur kids' care.

Information Karen C. would like to know about your pet
Any known food or environmental allergies your pet has. The type of energy they have. Overall temperament & traits. If they require feeding(depending on your schedule that you have at home for them) while in my home, please be sure to supply it for their stay along with your preference of scheduled feedings. Most importantly, for you and your dogs' safety, as well as mine, I must require proof of up to date vaccinations on all pets that will be in my home. Let me know if there's anything I can do to make their stay, the best one ever!
A typical day
We live close to the CSI campus, which has a great trail for walks. Playtime in the back yard includes fun and engaging toys that you approve of for your pets' preference, or if you send toys with them. Depending on the weather, we also have a doggy pool for the warmer days, and will take walks during the cooler parts of the day. On days that are too cold or too hot to play outside, we have a designated play room that has heat and air conditioning to keep everyone comfortable, regardless of the season.

At this point in time, I only take care of one pet at a time. In my experience, being able to give the pet that I'm caring for, the best experience with my undivided attention and care makes things better all around. It can already be stressful for your pet to be in a new environment, so I like to keep things as relaxed as possible and let them decompress for as long as they need. I am currently self employed so I have a very flexible schedule and my availability is very open. Let me know what your needs are and we can come up with a great plan for care. We can also arrange a free meet and greet beforehand, with minimum 48 hour notice if possible. A meet and greet is a great way to get to know each other and interact with your pet before booking a service.
