Your pup will be safe and happy in my extremely dog-friendly building, and you'll be happy getting to me by any of 11 train lines (AC/23/45/BF/NQR). I've been taking care of animals from tiny birds all the way up to horses my whole life. As you can imagine, I've dealt with every variety of mess, disaster, illness and minor emergency you can imagine over the years, and I'm prepared for it all! Your pup will have a great time with me, and chances are I'll have a great time with him too. :) I do not have any dogs right now, so there is no need to worry about whether yours will get along with mine. I work from home as a professional software engineer. I live in a tidy one-bedroom apartment with nice parks nearby where we can go for walks (at least 3x per day). I've also got bathing facilities in the building should we get dirty playing. I'll send you pics and updates on how your best friend is doing while you're away. Although I'm quite easy to get to, we can discuss pickups if that works better for you. Can't wait to meet your furry friend!

Meet my pets My roommate has a cat who lives outside the main room your dog will be in. You shouldn't expect very much interaction between them - only coming and going, where I will mostly keep your dog on leash.

I'd like to know who your vet is, any health issues the dog has, how they get along with other dogs and people, and any known behavioral quirks that might help me understand them better. I'd also like to know their feeding/walking/sleeping schedule. If you could bring their food along, that'd be great - and a towel or t-shirt that smells like you is always popular for a dog to sniff.
A typical day
Here's where we'll take our walks We'll take at least three walks a day to the nearby park and around my neighborhood. I mentioned a dog run above, and it's a great treat for dogs who just want to really RUN around and sniff things. Your dog's sleeping arrangement Most dogs who stay with me opt for either the couch, chair or the doggie crate. They're welcome to sleep wherever they want! Time I'll spend with your dog I work from home and will be with your dog nearly all day! I run out on errands sometimes but I'm quite the homebody.

Why I love dog sitting I've loved dogs and animals my whole life and have badly missed having one living with me since I moved to NYC (all my pets stayed in Ohio with my mom when I went to college). I scratch the itch, so to speak, by petsitting often!
