Peace of mind when u can't be there

Pet care experience

I worked in a local dog rescue for many years and have fostered hundreds of dogs in my home. I have worked with puppies, seniors, fearful dogs, special needs and even end-of-life doggies, using only positive reinforcement. I have taken canine CPR and 1st Aid and can administer any medications or treatments your pup(s) might need. I have even fed and medicated a dog through a g-tube while his esophagus was healing from surgical repair. I have also received training in dog behavior and how to manage it and the environment to keep dogs safe when in groups. I have a large, securely fenced-in backyard in a quiet, safe neighborhood with lots of other animal lovers. There are dog beds all over the house as well as all kinds of toys (can be put up if needed). The house can be separated into several zones in a matter of seconds, should any pup need a break and also to separate when feeding. Your furry family member(s) will be treated like a member of our family and given lots of love, exercise and play. My goal is to provide such great care that you can relax, knowing your loved one(s) are in good hands.

Information Karen B. would like to know about your pet

It is helpful to know in advance if your dog(s) has any special needs, dietary requirements, resource guarding, medication/treatments, any fears around other dogs, storms, etc. and any activity that your dog requires or must avoid. I request your veterinarian info just in case of an emergency; you may want to consider an authorized amount agreement in advance. I will consider a 2nd dog from the same owner on a case-by-case basis. Discount offered for 2nd dog. I apologize, but I cannot accept your dog if it does not get along with dogs and people. I prefer you bring along your dog(s) usual food to avoid an upset stomach while boarding, but will provide food if requested. Crates, toys, blankets, bowls, etc., are all provided for you, but feel free to bring a favorite toy or blanket along if you like. Items are sanitized between every boarder.

A typical day

You are welcome to pick and choose what is best for your dog(s). We offer walks, trips to parks (human, not dog), lots of play both indoors and out, doggy puzzles/games, basic training (sit, stay, down, etc.) and all the cuddles he/she can stand. We have tons of doggy toys of all different kinds, so your pup is sure to find something they like. Please let me know in advance if your dog needs toys put up before their stay.

I am currently only gone in the mornings so I have lots of time to devote to your pup while you're away. Your dog will walk daily either alone or with a resident pup he/she prefers unless you decline. Dogs are fed mornings and evenings unless otherwise requested. I do not offer any grooming services at this time, but will bathe your dog if it's needed (rolls in something stinky, accidents).
