I have lived with and loved dogs and cats all my life. When I was growing up, our home was the pet rescue magnet of the neighborhood. Dogs, and cats just seemed to know that they would be safe and cared for if they came to our house. When they showed up, they always received care, assistance finding their owners, and lots of love. My current 4-legged family members are Hamlet, a rescued "Yorkshire terrier", (we are not completely certain of his breed/mix), and an elder lady calico cat, Ariel Aurora,the traveling cat. Ariel joined our family as a kitten, and accompanied us on a cross country adventure from Minneapolis to the Pacific Northwest and back. She visited Mount Rushmore, Crazyhorse Monument, Pikes Place Market, the Rain Forest and the beaches of the Pacific riding in her cat pack on my 10 year old daughter's back. Ariel, now 15 years old, still loves travel and adventure. Hamlet was a stray, who appeared in the fenced in yard of a co-worker's dog sitter. He was exhausted, dirty, hungry and afraid. My daughter and I fell in love with him immediately upon meeting him. We know he was dearly loved and cared for before he mysteriously became separated from his former owner. We wish he could talk and tell us his story. I have a wonderful fenced yard that I have spent the last 3 years reclaiming from dirt packed like concrete into a native plant jungle. Hamlet, Ariel and I spend a lot of time in the garden during the spring, summer and fall months. Hamlet and Ariel lounge, assist and keep watch on the greenway which runs along the south side of our lot. I live in the Powderhorn Park neighborhood directly off the Greenway bike/walking trail and have access to great walks and are close driving distance of dog parks. Hamlet and I love to to go on walks at area parks and we also love visiting dog parks! We particularity love the dog parks at Lake of the Isles, and Minnehaha Falls. A great short walk for us is around Powderhorn Lake or down the Greenway to the Midtown Freewheel Bike Store. Ariel, Hamlet and I spend our days together hosting airbnb guests, (we have enjoyed sharing our home with delightful pet friendly people from all over the world for the last 2 years), playing with glass and tile mosaic art projects, digging in the garden and hanging out with family and friends. We would love to share our simple days with your dog family member. They will be safe and loved while you are at work, at play or off on adventures.
