Hello there! My name is Kara, and I have experience house, pet, plant, and boat sitting. I'm a flexible, conscientious, and caring individual who will treat your home and your pets as if they were my own. NOTE: At this time, I'm only scheduling pet care in your home for three (3) or more days. Please reach out for holiday, additional pet rates, and long-term rates. Here's more about me: * I'm non-smoking, and I keep things tidy and organized. * I work remotely, and I have very few other responsibilities that would take my attention away from caring for your home, pets, or plants. * I have experience caring for dogs & cats, many needing extra attention and care, some requiring medications. I have cared for homes, boats, condos, apartments, and pets of all life stages. * I'm highly communicative, responsible, and can troubleshoot most pet or home care concerns. If I can't figure out a solution independently, I'll take responsibility to get the appropriate help. * I'm available for international as well as US positions. If my profile interests you, please reach out. I'd enjoy the opportunity to see if we might be able to help each other out. NOTE: At this time, I'm only scheduling pet care in your home for (3) or more days. Also if you have dogs and cats, reach out and inquire about the added fees. One pet is $65, add $10 for 1 additional pet and $5 per pet thereafter, unless it’s a puppy or a holiday.

My place was left impeccable. My dog is extremely happy. KARA is a gentle soul and is great with dogs. I felt comfortable and confident only after a few minutes of meeting her leaving her with my sweet baby she sent me photos. She let me talk to her, I would highly recommend her
I honestly don't think there is anyone better at compassionate, loving, and reliable pet care than Kara L. She intuitively knows what animals need and want, and is infinitely patient with the older or slower ones. When she pet sits in-house she leaves the place much, much better than she found it (everything exactly where is was before, but cleaner!). I should know: not only has she lovingly cared for my aging, formerly feral, and mostly unfriendly cat, but I have recommended her to many others here in Maine, who absolutely rave about her. Her true talent seems to be with dogs of all ages and temperments...after a day or two with Kara I've watched them bound with joy when they see her, dragging the owner along at the other end of the leash. Kare is big-hearted and fostered several dogs at the end of their lives. I highly recommend her!

I always note your pet's routine to provide consistency in their daily care and habits. Most pets do best when their owners leave if their feeding and walking schedules are consistent. Many of the dogs and cats I've cared for have had special diets or were on medications (as were my own), which I administered as per instructions. I do not have experience giving shots, but I am willing to learn if need be.
A typical day
In my past caregiving experiences with dogs, I've provided long, invigorating walks and enjoyed playing fetch with dogs that love this activity. I've set up enrichment games for dogs whose owners desire that they engage in mentally stimulating challenges. And, dogs who enjoy being brushed will get this extra attention, which also helps keep the hair build-up to a minimum.
