I am 26 years old and have owned a dog for most of my life. At one point, we had two dogs in my parent's home. Currently, I have one dog, Jerry, that has been living with me and my boyfriend for 5 years. I've attended a dog training course at a local Petco store a few years ago and have used skills learned in this course to train my dog. So far, he knows the following commands: sit, stay, handshake, spin, roll over, and 'leave it.' His favorite word is "Treat!" It doesn't matter if he is sleeping, eating, or playing with his toys, he will always respond to that word. These commands were taught to a dog who is approaching 7 years old (yes, old dogs can learn new tricks!). Over the last few years, I have cared for several of my family members' dogs. My dog sitting consists of feeding, bathing (if necessary), walking, and playing with dogs. If a client chooses me to take care of their dog, their dog will be well taken care of and the client can choose to check-in with their dog at any time. Because I'm currently in grad school pursuing my PhD, my schedule is very flexible!
