Pet care experience
I got my first dog Roxie at 8 years old. My mom made me a big part of her training and I assumed full responsibility after a few months. Summer 2021, I adopted a dog for myself and it’s been a blast! I have experience handling surgery recovery and medication administration. Douglas and I would love to have some more company over the summer!

I have a 1 y/o 11lbs Yorkiepoo named Douglas living here with me who loves other dogs of all sizes and is extremely tolerant of cats. The neighborhood is pretty quiet but there’s a small dog park and sidewalks throughout the whole neighborhood. Doug generally alerts when he needs to use the restroom and grazes on food, but if there’s a bathroom and food schedule you’d like just let me know.

It would be great to find out at a meet up (if possible) the tolerance of your pet too high energy dogs because even though Douglas is small he can sometimes annoy older pets who like their personal space.
A typical day
We mainly play in the house since Doug is small, but there is a small dog park right across from my house. I use puzzle feeders and snuffle mats for treats and often ball up rawhides or toys in blankets for a quick high-energy digging session. Douglas’s favorite toy is a laser believe it or not, and he likes chasing it up and down the stairs.

Availability
I work part-time at Lasertron which is only open Thursday-Sunday and though my schedule isn’t the same every weekend I know my shifts are 6-9 hours long. The other days I will be at home with Douglas doing summer classwork and hanging out, and I may volunteer once a week at the hospital though the day has not been set for that yet.
