I got my own first dog when I was 16, she was a boxer and I had no idea what I was getting myself into. I had my hands full with her exuberance but with her I learned that all dogs are different, they have their own distinct personalities so training was challenging and we really had to get to know eachother. I believe attentiveness, consistency, firmness, fairness and love are all very important in building a relationship and respect. I now work at a dog board and train with up to 16 dogs at a time, most of them young and disobedient but precious. I love my work and coming in every morning to see all of my buddies is the highlight of my day.
